POST 304 IS NOT DONE!! They are continuing to collect more items and preparing to send additional trucks. Items may be dropped off at Post 304, every day between the hours of 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm. They need more items, they need financial donations and they need VOLUNTEERS to help load the trucks. The Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304 is continuing to partner with the 9/11 Memorial Ride Foundation to provide relief supplies to the hardest hit areas from Hurricane Helene – South and East Georgia and the Carolinas. Post 304, in partnership with the 9/11 Memorial Ride, delivered two trucks full of relief items today (Saturday, October 5, 2024) to two different destinations. The Northbound truck delivered its load to Waynesville, NC, where members of the LifeChurch congregation unloaded and packed the items for delivery to community members. The Southbound truck went to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department in Douglas, GA.
PLEASE HELP US CONTINUE TO HELP OTHERS ITEMS NEEDED THE MOST INCLUDE:
• Bottled water
• Diapers, wipes and powdered formula
• Paper products (TP, paper towels, plates, cutlery, cups)
• Hygiene products (tooth brushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, towels)
• Canned and boxed food (NO perishables)
• Cleaning supplies (especially bleach sprays and cleansers)
• Dog food / cat food
• Batteries (primarily AA and AAA)
• Flashlights, battery-operated radios
• Benadryl (chewable and capsule)
• Epipens
• First Aid items (asperin, bandages, triple antibiotic creams, etc.)
• NO MORE CLOTHES
PLEASE box all items in stackable boxes under 40lbs and seal them if possible. It will make packing and shipping easier for all.
