MON MAY 25 DO YOU HAVE A MINUTE???? MEMORIAL DAY – May 25, 2026
by Mary Lou Cagle, MARIETTA
This minute, 60 seconds, is an annual event that asks all Americans, wherever you are at 3:00 pm on MEMORIAL DAY, to pause and remember those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is a period of silent contemplation, prayer, reflection, and respect. Memorial Day is NOT a day of celebration. MEMORIAL DAY is a day of Remembrance. It is a day to remember those men and women who died while on active duty for the United States of America and died defending our country. It is The National Moment of Remembrance.
It is always important to thank our military members for their service – but on this day, MEMORIAL DAY, it is our day to remember those who died in service to the United States and share in The National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 25, 2026.
