SAT OCT 19 MARIETTA’S HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION 9:00 am – 5:00 PM Marietta’s HarvestFest is an annual festival held each October on the Marietta Square. The festival includes the HarvestFest Market, Touch-A-Truck, Scarecrows In The Square, Costume Contest, Pie Eating Contest presented by Pie Bar, and Halloween Happenings kid’s festival. The festival is sure to please the whole family! The Festival will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at Glover Park on the Square in Marietta .The HarvestFest Market draws exhibitors from the southern states, including many local vendors, showcasing and selling their handmade arts & crafts. A host of activities are planned through out the day: Touch-A-Truck 10:00AM to 2:00PM Festival-goers of all ages will enjoy this portion of the event. Pie Eating Contest 11:30AM to 12:30PM is for ages 6 and up – come hungry! Kid’s Festival Calling all kids to come dressed in their favorite costume with a trick-or-treat bag! Halloween Happenings is a kid’s festival for children ages 12 and younger. Carnival games, inflatable houses, candy and other special activities make this a safe and fun fall event. SAT OCT 19 3:00 PM-7:00 PM Acworth’s JamBOOree – COME for a spooky good time! The Acworth Halloween JamBOOree is back and open to all families looking to have a spooky good time celebrating Halloween with lots of fun festivities! The JamBOOree will be held on Saturday, October 19th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street Acworth, GA There will be games, rides, food, music, and lots of fun! Get the whole family dressed up, as there will also be a costume contest for the kids! Businesses, churches, local schools and community groups are welcome to sign up as a Trunk or Treat vendor. SAT OCT 19 3:00 PM-7:00 PM KENNESAW’S SPOOK-CENTRAL PARK The City of Kennesaw’s Parks & Recreation Department invites area ghouls, ninjas, superheroes and princesses to “Spook-Central Park” for its annual Fall-O-Ween Fest on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Swift-Cantrell Park. Admission is free. The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Costume Contest will take place every 30 minutes beginning at 3:30 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to three winners during each time slot. The contest is open to all ages, including dogs. The evening will conclude with a showing of Halloweentown (G) after sundown. The movie will be projected onto a giant inflatable screen. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back chairs for comfort. Pop-up tents, canopies and beach umbrellas that could obstruct the view of others will not be permitted. SUN OCT 20 DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE – STRAND THEATER 2:30 A chance to see the screening of the 1920 classic silent horror film, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, on Sunday afternoon, October 20th beginning at 2:30pm with a theater organ pops pre-show and spooky sing-a-long. House Organist Ron Carter will provide the accompaniment music for the film on the theater’s Mighty Allen Theatre Organ which will rise from the orchestra pit bathed in fog and special lighting as it awaits Mr. Carter, who will be escorted to the stage by a Goblin processional, all dressed in Halloween costume! INCLUDES A SING-A-LONG AND COSTUME CONTEST Come early at 2:30 to hear Associate Organist Eddie Hulsey entertain you with great spooky music and a fun filled sing-a-long. Andy Gaines, the theatre’s Executive Director will then conduct a costume contest with participants crossing the stage to the cheers and applause of the audience! So COME IN COSTUME and join in the fun. After the contest John Malahy will introduce this 1920’s masterpiece with wonderful behind the scenes tidbits you won’t find anywhere else. FRI OCT 25 DOWNTOWN KENNESAW’S CANDY CRAWL 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm Get ready for a spooktacular evening in Downtown Kennesaw! Join the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association and the Downtown Development Authority on Friday, October 25, for a night of thrills, chills and Halloween fun! Start your adventure with Trick-or-Treating from 4:30 – 6:00 PM as you collect sweet treats from local merchants. Then, head over to Depot Park from 4:30 – 7:30 PM for even more fang-tastic festivities, games and surprises! SAT OCT 26 KENNESAW’S NIGHTMARE ON MAIN 5K – NOW IS THE Time to register for the LAST 5K of the season hosted by the Kennesaw Grand Prix. Nightmare on Main 5K is the fourth race of the 2024 Kennesaw Grand Prix Series and will be held on Saturday, October 26. If you are a runner, how about setting your PR on an amazing, fast and flat course inside the city limits of Kennesaw? The race includes a one mile fun run at 7:30 a.m.; the 5K at 8 a.m.; and a Tot Trot at 8:55 a.m. Awards are presented at the after party on Main Street at 9:15 a.m. Nightmare on Main 5K is run on a mostly flat and fast asphalt course, professionally timed and USAT&F Certified, through Downtown Kennesaw and Swift-Cantrell Park. The course is perfect for competitive runners seeking a qualifying time for the Peachtree Road Race. Fees are: 5K – $35 (now – Oct 25) Day of Registration $45; 1 Mile Fun Run – $20; Tot Trot – $5.
