Our “Juried Exhibit” will begin Saturday, September 2 and run through Saturday, October 28. Our Juror for this exhibit is Kathy Rennell Forbes. SAT-SUN SEPT 16-17 MOTHER-SON CAMP OUT The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is excited to host the Mother-Son Camp Out at Proctor Landing Park again in September 16-17, 2023. This annual event is open to mothers and their sons who are 13 and under. Participants will camp alongside the beautiful Lake Allatoona while learning about camping etiquette, campfire building, knot tying and a variety of other outdoor activities! SUN SEPT 17 BELLS ACROSS AMERICA The Kennesaw Mountain DAR is hosting Bells Across America to celebrate Constitution Day.The event will be held September 17, by the tunnel entrance near Bernardo’s. There will be DAR members handing out information on the US Constitution between 2:30-3:30. A bell choir will perform at 3:30; Mayor Easterling will speak, and then promptly at 4pm (when constitution was signed), we will have all citizens and downtown patrons ring their bells. We hope to have a great turnout. .
SEPT 21-OCT 1 NORTH GEORGIA STATE FAIR – As the largest fair in metro Atlanta, the Superior Plumbing presents North Georgia State Fair attracts over 365,000 people every year from north Georgia and neighboring states. FRI & SAT NIGHTS SEPT 22, 23, 29 AND 30 DEATH AND TAXES presented by Acworth Cultural Arts. Performances run Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 on September 22, 23, 29 and 30, with one Sunday matinee at 3:00 on Sept. 24. SAT SEPT 23 Fall Sidewalk Sale & Can Drive Cobb Antique Mall is celebrating the first day of Autumn with a sidewalk sale on Saturday, September 23, from 10 am to 5 pm. CAM is located at 2800 Canton Road in Marietta with over 100 dealers – Cobb’s biggest and voted “Best Antique Mall” numerous times by the community. Dealers will be dropping their prices faster than fall leaves! In addition, there will be a snow cone truck and free popcorn. SAT SEPT 30 Classic Car Cruise The Fall Downtown Classic Car Cruise is back September 30, 2023. The event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street). The Lake City Cruisers partner with the City and the downtown Acworth merchants to hold these Classic Car Cruises. The event is free to the public. A $5 entry fee is requested for all vehicles in the cruise. All proceeds go to the Horizon Field, an all-inclusive special needs sports facility in Acworth. FRI OCT 6 KENNESAW’S FIRST FRIDAY CONCERTS The next concert will be October 6 , featuring: The Emerald Empire Band. From 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., the community is invited to stroll through the Historic Downtown area, and enjoy an evening of shopping, dining and live music. The concert will take place at the Pedestrian Underpass/Tunnel Plaza off Main Street. Tables are available for reservation for $70. Tables will seat six individuals. OCT 7 CEMETERY CLEAN UP Join the Kennesaw Cemetery Preservation Commission for “Cemetery Clean Up Day” on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kennesaw City Cemetery in Downtown Kennesaw. Clean Up Day is free and open to the public. All are invited to help us clean the headstones in the historic cemetery. Cleaning supplies will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own gloves.

SAT OCT 14 ACWORTH BOOK & STORYTELLING FESTIVAL This annual event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic Rosenwald School in Doyal Hill Park, 4410 Cherokee St., Acworth. Sponsored by Acworth Cultural Arts, this forum of local authors and storytellers is free to the public. This year’s theme is “Words and Stories of Many Voices”, highlighting cultural and creative diversity. History, mystery, fact and fiction will all be represented. Attendees will hear presentations by published authors, and performances by members of the Southern Order of Storytellers and students from KSU’s Storytelling Troupe. SAT OCT 21 DOCUMENT SHREDDING EVENT The City of Kennesaw is hosting a community shredding event on Saturday, October 21 at the Kennesaw Public Works facility on 3080 Moon Station Road from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or until the shred truck is filled). There will be absolutely NO glass, metal, or electronics accepted at this event – only personal documents for shredding. The event is free and open to all.

MONDAY AFTERNOONS 2023 KENNESAW’S FARMERS MARKET. Calling all Farmers! Applications are open for the 2023 season at the Kennesaw Farmers Market. The market will be held weekly on Main Street on Monday evenings from 3:30-7:30 PM, April 3 – September 25. We are currently accepting vendor applications and will give first preference to vendors with fresh produce, meats, plants and food-related items (with appropriate cottage licensing). FRIDAY MORNINGS 2023 ACWORTH’S FARMERS MARKET The goal of the Historic Downtown Acworth Farmers Market is to support the development of the local agricultural economy by providing a place for farmers/producers to sell their goods directly to consumers while assisting businesses that sell food, farm/garden, and kitchen related products. The idea behind the market is to bring back the “small town” community atmosphere while providing an alternative shopping outlet. The Farmers’ Market shall encourage a sense of community where business people and residents come together in historic downtown to support the local community & producers in our area.
