SAT SEPT 10 GREAT LOCOMOTIVE CHASE 5K – downtown Kennesaw. Registration is open for the Great Locomotive Chase 5K!  Join the Kennesaw Museum Foundation on September 10 from 7:30- 9:00 am – and be a part of the premier 5K race series in north Georgia and the City of Kennesaw’s ONLY 5K series! The Great Locomotive Chase 5K benefits the Kennesaw Museum Foundation, in support of the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History. SAT SEPT 10 PIZZA, PINTS & PIGSKINS Pizzerias from all over Cobb County will converge on Logan Farm Park for food, fun, and games on September 10, 2022. Beginning at noon, each restaurant will serve their best pizza dish along with other yummy fares. Bring the whole family to eat, play in our huge Kid’s Zone, listen to your favorite music, grab a cold beverage from the beer garden, relax and have fun! Lots of football activities are planned and you won’t miss a thing with games being televised throughout the day on big screens. MONDAY SEPT 12 CANNON BALL CLASSIC Registration is open for the 2nd Annual “Cannon Ball Classic” Golf Tournament on Monday, September 12 at City Club Marietta, 510 Powder Springs Street SE, Marietta, The golf tournament benefits the Marietta Educational Garden Center. The day begins with registration at 8am, breakfast, coffee, warm up and a putting contest. Shotgun starts at 9am. Awards, lunch and raffle winners will be presented at 1pm. Individual registration is $150 and includes greens fee, cart, player gift, beverages and lunch. A group foursome is being offered for $500 (saving $25pp). MON SEPT 12 DEADLINE FOR KENNESAW’S SCARECROWS ON MAIN. A $25 application fee to the Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority is required with the entry of each scarecrow. All monies raised will go to promoting the downtown through beautification projects and events. The application & information packets can be found on the City’s website at www.kennesaw-ga.gov/scarecrowsonmain. The deadline for applications is September 12, 2022.

KENNESAW’S FIRST FRIDAY CONCERTS The Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority and the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association are excited to announce the second annual First Friday Concert Series in Downtown Kennesaw. The Series will run from now through October, with no concert during the month of July. From 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., the community is invited to stroll through the Historic Downtown area, and enjoy an evening of shopping, dining and live music. The concert will take place at the Pedestrian Underpass/Tunnel Plaza off Main Street. Attendance is free or if you wish, Tables are available for reservation for $55. FRI GLOVER PARK CONCERT SERIES As in previous years, these free concerts will take place monthly in Glover Park in the Marietta Square. All concerts begin at 8:00 on the last Friday of each month, April – September The concert lineup: April 29, The Geek Squad, Pop/R&B; May 27, BJ Wilbanks , That 70s Show; June 24, Catalinas, Beach; July 29, Chuck Martin, Country; August 26,Brotherhood, Doobies Tribute ; September 30, Still Swinging Big Band. Attendees can bring a picnic or dine in one of the many fine restaurants located on the square. Blankets and lawn chairs may be set up in the park. Tables and chairs are permitted in the street after 6:00 p.m. No personal tables, plastic ground covering, ropes, tape, stakes, etc. used to section off areas are permitted inside the park as they will be removed.

SAT The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an open-air showcase of locally-created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. It is held every Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm from March to December.
