Please remember each group or organization must register by September 24, 2021, to decorate a Scarecrow on the Square by displaying your group, business or school’s creativity and personality via a scarecrow! SAT SEPT 18 MOTHER SON CAMP OUT The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is excited to host our annual Mother-Son Camp Out at Proctor Landing Park on Saturday, September 18 beginning at 12:00 p.m. through Sunday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m. This event is open to mothers and their sons, 13 and under. THUR SEPT 23-SUN OCT 3 NORTH GEORGIA STATE FAIR presented by Superior Plumbing. 88th Annual Superior Plumbing Presents the North Georgia State Fair beginning Thursday, Sept. 23, through Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Jim R. Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Rd., Marietta. The fair grounds will be open Monday through Thursday 4 to 11 p.m., Fridays 4 p.m. to midnight Saturdays 10 a.m., to midnight, and Sundays 12:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. As the largest fair in metro Atlanta, the North Georgia State Fair attracts 300,000 people every year from north Georgia and neighboring states. The Fair features live music, free attractions and shows, farm animals, flower shows, blue ribbon competitions, local entertainment, and delicious fair foods. There are also games and rides on the Great James H. Drew Exposition midway– one of the largest carnival Midways in the United States, featuring the Wildcat Rollercoaster, Georgia Mountain Lift and the Mega Slide. ADMISSION Gate Admission: $10.00 admission. Children 10 and under are free. Ride tickets are $1.25 each, $20.00 for 21 tickets, $50.00 for 55 tickets and $100 for 120 tickets. All rides require more than one ticket. Parking is $5. Concerts FREE with fair admission. ATM machines are located on the midway. MON OCT 4 Acworth Scarecrow Parade The Acworth Scarecrow Parade is back! Schools, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations have created scarecrows to decorate Downtown Acworth for the fall season. Scarecrows will begin parading throughout historic downtown Acworth on Monday, October 4. They will continue to be on display until Friday, November 5. The theme for this year’s Scarecrow Parade is A Night at the Movies!

Logan Farm Pumpkin Patch Art Contest
Families, non-profits, churches, organizations, and businesses were invited to participate in the City of Acworth’s annual Logan Farm Pumpkin Patch Art Contest. Celebrate the fall season by visiting Logan Farm Park to see all the wooden pumpkins created by Acworth families and local businesses. The pumpkins will be on display at Logan Farm Park October 5-October 31.

SAT OCT 9 – WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES – The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will be held Saturday, October 9, beginning a 9:00 am at Swift Cantrell Park. Open to every one, but men will be walking a mile in women’s high heels. The fees range from $20-$35. Check-in is at 7:00 AM, Welcome at 8:30 and the Walk begins at 9:00. SAT OCT 9 TASTE OF ACWORTH – This annual event will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The City of Acworth partners with the Acworth Business Association and JRM Management to host this event on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. This event benefits numerous local schools and charities in our community. There are over 150 booths from local restaurants and businesses, as well as an entertainment stage. Children will have plenty to do with inflatables, quad bungee, and challenging games located in the kid zone. Admission is FREE! An array of diverse restaurants will be offering food samples from $1.00 to $4.00 to satisfy every palate. Parking will be available throughout town. Come hungry, bring the kids, and join in the fun!

SAT & SUN OCT 9 & 10 CHALKTOBERFEST The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is pleased to announce the return of Chalktoberfest on October 9th and 10th in the Marietta Square and The Craft Beer and Wine Festival to be held on October 9th from 12 pm until 5 pm. Tickets for the Craft Beer and Wine Festival go on sale August 1, 2021.  This is a sell-out event, so get your tickets early! NOW TIL OCTOBER FIRST FRIDAY CONCERTS The Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority and the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association are excited to announce the inaugural First Friday Concert Series in Historic Downtown Kennesaw. The Series, which runs from now through October, will hold the next concert on Friday June 4. From 6:00 to 9:00 PM, the community is invited to stroll through the Historic Downtown area and enjoy an evening of shopping, dining and live music. The concert will take place at the Pedestrian Underpass off Main Street. Tables are available for reservation for $50. Tables will seat six individuals. FRI ACWORTH FARMERS MARKET IS OPEN Shop for local at the Acworth Farmers Market every Friday morning from April 9-October 29 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The market takes place at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street).
