FRI JAN 22 KENNESAW PARKS & REC presents Art in the Park – Clay for my Valentine 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Interested in a fun night out with friends? A date night? Mother – daughter bonding? Family night? Ceramic’s instructor Kristen Smith will be leading a fun and safe social distanced class where you can make a unique ceramic item to use in your home or give as a gift for Valentine’s Day. • Supplies are included. No artistic talent is needed.
• Feel free to bring food and beverages of your choice. Alcohol is permitted, there will be a KPD officer on site.

TUES JAN 26 SOUTHERN MUSEUM hosts Sensory Friendly Afternoon 2:00-5:00 pm. Join the Southern Museum for a Sensory Friendly Afternoon! From 2 PM to 5 PM, the museum will be transformed into a sensory-friendly environment. They welcome visitors with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing issues, or special needs to explore the Museum at their own pace. All ages are welcome. Included with general admission and free for members!

SAT JAN 23 Pop-In at the Marietta Museum of History: Board Games & Puzzles
The Marietta Museum of History will be hosting its monthly Pop-In event on Saturday, January 23rd from 10:30am-3:30pm. Pop-In’s provide children and their families the opportunity to interact with the Museum through themed activities and crafts. Join us in January for crafts and activities geared towards board games and puzzles, currently these will be “Make and Take” so families may enjoy them at home while the Museum adheres to current health guidelines. Our “Board games and Puzzles” crafts are included with admission! The Museum’s new health policies and procedures are posted on our website.  Marietta Museum of History is located at 1 Depot Street, Marietta, GA 30060. Cost: Admission to the Museum during the Pop-In will be $5 per person with a family cap of $20!

REGISTER NOW ACWORTH’S Youth Horizon Skills and Drills will be held starting Feb 18. Horizon skills and drills is a sports skill program for Horizon Athletes. Basic skills and techniques will be taught. Following the skill and drill sequences will be games that reinforce the teachings. Weeks 1 & 2 will focus on indoor soccer skills and drills. Weeks 3 and 4 will focus on basketball skills and drills. All athletes will receive a t-shirt. Athletes ages 5 to 12 years old with developmental and/or physical are invited to participate. This program will take place on Thursdays at the Acworth Community Center February 18 through March 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The cost to register in $15. REGISTER NOW Acworth Adult Spring Volleyball League begins MON Feb 22 The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is now offering a Co-ed Adult Volleyball League! The league will be held in the Acworth Community Center on Mondays and will offer two divisions: Competitive and Recreational. Both divisions will run simultaneously with start times beginning at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. The league will begin on Monday, February 22, with a single-elimination tournament being held on Saturday, March 27. The fee for this league is $350 per team for both City residents and non-residents. Don’t have a team? No worries! Come out and participate in our Free Agent Day on Monday, February 8 at the Acworth Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Free Agent registration is $35 for both City residents and non-residents. MON FEB 15-FRI FEB 19 ACWORTH’S Art Explosion Winter Break Camp It’s time to get those creative juices flowing! Art Explosion Camp offers a full week of non-stop art experiments and activities. Each day of camp will focus on a different art style like fabrics and dyes, paper making, paint, clay, and more! Young artists will roll up their sleeves and create their next masterpiece. Campers are encouraged to dress in clothing ready to get painted, stained, and splattered! Camp will take place Monday through Friday, February 15-February 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Campers may be dropped off no earlier than 7:45 a.m. and picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. This camp is open to children ages 6-13. SAT FEB 20 Special Olympics Georgia Polar Plunge. Special Olympics Georgia is proud to present the 12th Annual Polar Plunge which will be held on Saturday, February 20th at Lake Acworth in Acworth, Georgia, and the plunging will occur between 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The Polar Plunge is one of Special Olympics Georgia “coolest” and largest fundraising events through the efforts of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Program (LETR). All proceeds raised go to help provide 26,620 Special Olympics Georgia athletes free year-round sports training. For more information and to register, visit
