NOW TIL AUG SMITH GILBERT’S Garden with Wings Opens Butter Fly Exhibit.This year, the exhibit will be extended for two months, from June 1 to July 31, 2024. During Pollinator Palooza, visitors will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the Butterfly Exhibit without purchasing an additional butterfly house ticket. The event will also feature a variety of booths including arts, crafts and community partners focused on pollinator conservation, including Birds Georgia, Georgia Bat Working Group, Foodwell Alliance, Cobb County Master Gardeners and Socially Chy. NOW TIL SEP 8 MARIETTA COBB MUSEUM OF ART presents Metro Montage XXIV. This is 24th annual juried exhibition featuring all types of genre, medium, style, subject matter, concept, and technique in art from across the country. Selected from over 1,000 submissions, the works of fine art in Metro Montage showcase the diversity and skill within our nation’s culture. WED JULY 10 MARIETTA’S FIRE TRAINING TOWER GRAND OPENING. The City of Marietta will host a grand opening of the new Marietta Fire Training Tower with a fire hose uncoupling ceremony on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 850 Sawyer Road, Marietta, GA 30062. The event will open with tours of the new facility and light refreshments starting at 4:00 p.m. The official ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m.

SAT JULY 13 KENNESAW’S B2S JAM 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Kennesaw Recreation Center. Admission is free and kids will receive school supplies and book bags on a first come first serve basis. Vendors will be on-site providing giveaways and helpful information of their resources and services in the community for families and children. In concurrence with the event, Kennesaw Hoops is hosting a Free Throw and 3-Point Contest for a $2 entry fee per person to patriciate. Participants can register up to the day of for the contests, before 11:00 AM for the Free Throw contest and before 12:00 PM for the 3-Point contest.

MONDAY JULY 15 1885 GRILL RIBBON CUTTING – The City of Kennesaw will host a ribbon cutting for 1885 Grill on MONDAY, JULY 15 at 10:30 am. Lets all turn out to welcome 1885 to downtown Kennesaw. It will be located in the old Trackside Grill building at 2840 S Main Street Kennesaw, GA 30144.

FRI JULY 19 MARIETTA’S PARKS AND RECREATION CELEBRATION Come out to Tumlin Park, 400 Chesnut Hill,  July 19th, 4:00PM – 8:00PM to take part in the National Parks & Recreation Month Marietta Celebration. Join Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities as they enjoy an evening playing games & listening to great music from Jason Garner, Hot Candy Rocks & Ian McConnell.

FRI JULY 19 KENNESAW’S OUTDOOR MOVIE The City of Kennesaw’s free Outdoor Movie Series will present “Top Gun: Maverick” (PG-13) onto a giant inflatable screen after sundown on July 19 at Swift-Cantrell Park located at 3140 Old 41 Highway. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, etc. for their own comfort. No high-backed chairs, umbrellas, tents, pop-up canopies, etc. that could block the view of the movie for others. SAT JULY 20 SOUTHERN MUSEUM. The popular Railroad Rendezvous event will return to the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History on Saturday, July 20. A variety of activities celebrating the railroad and all things transportation will be taking place throughout the day. Railroad Rendezvous also offers the rare opportunity to step aboard the General locomotive, made famous during the Civil War’s Great Locomotive Chase of 1862, and tour the cab of the historic steam locomotive. The “Board the General Experience” is $5 per person, children two years old and younger are free .All activities excluding the “Board the General Experience” are included with regular admission; $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for children. FRI JULY 26 GLOVER PARK CONCERT SERIES The Downtown Marietta Development Authority and the City of Marietta are proud to announce the 2024 Glover Park Concert Series. These free concerts take place monthly in Glover Park on the Marietta Square from April through September. The concert lineup: July 26-G Clef and The Playlist – Variety Party Band. Blankets and lawn chairs may be set up in the park anytime on Friday.  No plastic ground covering, ropes, tape, stakes, etc. used to section off areas are permitted inside the park as they will be removed and all personal tables must be set up in the street after 6:00 p.m., not in the park.

SAT JULY 27 BLUEGRASS CONCERT 2024 hosted by ACWORTH CULTURAL ARTS The Acworth Cultural Arts is hosting its 2024 Bluegrass concert, featuring the Lonesome River Band with guests The Steed Brothers and The Ramblers and special guest emcee/storyteller, Leslie Shelley on Saturday, July 27 at the Tanyard Creek Overlook in downtown Acworth’s Parkside District! FRI AUG 2 AUGUST’S FIRST FRIDAY CONCERT First Friday Concerts welcomes Outside the Perimeter the Band on August 2. Outside the Perimeter the Band is local to the Atlanta area with an eclectic sound and a playlist with a variety of songs! Mark your calendars for Friday, August 2 and join the fun in downtown Kennesaw. On August 2, from 7:00 – 9:30 PM, the community is invited to stroll through the Downtown area, and enjoy an evening of shopping, dining and live music. The Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority and the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association are excited to announce the fourth annual First Friday Concert Series, presented by LOUD Security, in Downtown Kennesaw. This series will run through October.

FRI AND SAT AUG 16/17 KENNESAW’S PIGS AND PEACHES BBQ FESTIVAL. Pigs & Peaches has grown into one of the region’s most beloved festivals attracting an estimated 65,000 attendees annually. Now in its 23rd year, the festival features two days of non-stop music, good eats, cold beer and interactive family fun. Attendees will find over 100 vendors, exhibitor and contestant booths, a Kid Zone full of inflatables, amusements and attractions, tons of tasty treats to satisfy every whim and an incredible lineup of live entertainment and street performers. THURS-SUN SEPT 19-29 NORTH GEORGIA STATE FAIR As the largest fair in metro Atlanta, the Superior Plumbing presents North Georgia State Fair attracts over 300,000 people every year from north Georgia and neighboring states. The fair features free attractions and shows, farm animals, flower shows, blue ribbon competitions, local entertainment, and delicious fair foods.  There are also games and rides on the Great James H. Drew Exposition midway– one of the largest carnival midways in the United States, featuring the Wildcat Rollercoaster, Georgia Mountain Lift, and the Mega Slide. FIRST MONDAYS KENNESAW FARMERS MARKET This year’s market will take place on Mondays, with hours of operation from 3:30-7:00 p.m., and will be located at the corner of Main Street and Moon Station Road. The market season is set to open on Monday, May 6, and run through Monday, August 26. The market will close on May 27 (Memorial Day). FRIDAYS Acworth Farmers Market
 will take place on Friday mornings between April 5 and October 25 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The market is located in the Logan Farm Park Expansion, located at 4405 Cherokee Street in Acworth. Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh-baked bread, pies, cakes, honey, and jams to choose from each week. This year’s market will be bigger and better than previous years and shoppers won’t believe the selection of homegrown goodies! SAT The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an open-air showcase of locally-created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. It is held every Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm from March to December.
