2023 KENNESAW’S FARMERS MARKET. Calling all Farmers! Applications are open for the 2023 season at the Kennesaw Farmers Market. The market will be held weekly on Main Street on Monday evenings from 3:30-7:30 PM, April 3 – September 25. We are currently accepting vendor applications and will give first preference to vendors with fresh produce, meats, plants and food-related items (with appropriate cottage licensing). A limited number of booths for makers/crafters will also be available. However, no direct sales items will be accepted. EASTER EVENTS

FRI MAR 31 ACWORTH EGG HUNT The City of Acworth and Freedom Church would like to invite your family to experience an egg hunt like you’ve never seen before! The event will take place on Friday, March 31 at the Acworth Sports Complex, located at 4000 South Main St. The Easter Egg Hunts will be held on the baseball fields and we ask all participants to please park on the baseball side of the complex. We will have gates and concessions opening at 6:00 p.m., and the first hunt begins at 7:30 p.m., so make sure you arrive early.  This year the hunt will consist of 50,000 eggs and the Easter Bunny will be SKYDIVING in for the fun! The Acworth Egg Hunt is broken down into five age groups and the start times will alternate between fields. For more information on the schedule or to volunteer visit www.acworthegghunt.com.

SAT APR 1 KENNESAW’S BUNNY BREAKFAST Join Kennesaw Parks & Recreation for the annual Bunny Breakfast at the Ben Robertson Community Center on Saturday, April 1st! Treat your family to a buffet including hot and ready pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage as well as a medley of fresh fruit and delicious breakfast sweets. Everyone’s favorite cottontail will be making his way from table to table to say hello to all the boys and girls. Be sure to bring your camera to capture all the memories. Seatings are available from 8:00 – 9:15 AM or 10:00 – 11:15 AM. Tickets are only $8 per person and can be purchased online or at the Ben Robertson Community Center. Advance purchase is required. Tickets are non-refundable after March 24. Children ages 2 and under do not need a ticket if they will be sitting in laps. SAT APR 1 BREAKFAST AND Smith-Gilbert Garden’s Easter Egg Hunt.This year we are excited to offer a fun opportunity to attend the Bunny Breakfast at the Ben Robertson Community Center and the Easter Egg Hunt at Smith-Gilbert Gardens! Sign up for one or both with a combo ticket. Be sure to bring your camera to capture all the memories. Children up to 9 years old – bring your baskets! Create Easter themed crafts and play garden games. WED APR 5 KENNESAW’S SENIOR LUNCHEONS The second Senior Luncheon in our Spring Series is next Wednesday, April 5, at the Ben Robertson Community Center. Our Spring Series is presented by Cobb EMC and Wellstar Health System. We will have a caterer, and some fantastic bingo prizes will be available. FRI APRIL 7 – MARIETTA COMMUNITY EGG HUNT hosted by Life University at Life University Athletic Complex, 1415 Barclay Circle, Marietta, 30060. Plan to join us for the Marietta Community Egg Hunt. There will fun, food, games, music, activities, and of course egg hunts for everyone. The event will take place at Life University. There will be more than 60,000 eggs and candy for the various hunts. The funds raised from the Egg Hunt go to support Marietta City Schools via the Marietta Business Association Education Programs. The fun begins at 5:00 pm. Admission AND Parking are FREE

SAT APR 8 NORTHEAST COBB COMMUNITY EGG DROP. hosted by Piedmont Church and Cobb County School District. Plan to join us for the 14th Annual Northeast Cobb Community Egg Drop. There will be fun, food, games, DJ, activities, and of course egg hunts for everyone. Kids will marvel as a helicopter drops thousands of eggs onto the Sprayberry High School football field to kick-off the hunt. There will be more than 90,000 eggs and candy for the various hunts. The funds raised from the Egg Drop go to support multiple organizations in our community. Last year more than $10,000.00 went right back into the community from the event. The fun begins at 10:00 and lasts till 4:00. Admission and parking are FREE.

SUN APR 9 EASTER SUNRISE SERVICES Winkenhofer Pineridge Funeral Home and Cemetery invite the public to attend Easter Sun Rise Services on Sunday, April 9 at 7:00 am. Dress warmly, bring a blanket and a chair. The service will be held by Pastor J Perry Fowler of Kennesaw First Baptist Church. Winkenhofer’s is located at 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw.

SAT & SUN APRIL 22 AND 23  47th ANNUAL SUPERIOR PLUMBING KENNESAW/BIG SHANTY FESTIVAL
The Kennesaw Business Association in cooperation with the City of Kennesaw along with the Title Sponsor: Superior Plumbing and Presenting Sponsors: LGE Community Credit Union and Georgia Grown will host the 47th Annual Superior Plumbing Kenneaw/Big Shanty Festival on Saturday April 22 and Sunday April 23 in downtown Kennesaw. The Superior Plumbing Kennesaw/Big Shanty Festival features over 250 Arts & Crafts booths, 25 food booths, two entertainment stage, kids activities, as well as live acoustic music in the Food Court throughout the weekend.  Something for the entire family!

SAT APR 22 EVERYONE LOVES A PARADE. A parade will kick-off the festival at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday April 22nd. Crowds line the streets of downtown Kennesaw to cheer on the more than 2,000 kids that participate. These kids represent every sports association and school in the area. Local businesses, the winners of various beauty pageants, and Allatoona, Kell, Kennesaw Mountain, Harrison and North Cobb High School marching bands also add to the festivities. SAT APR 22 LIVE AT LOGAN FARM PARK Live at Logan Farm Park is back this year Saturday, April 22, 2023. The Acworth Arts Alliance will be partnering with the City of Acworth to bring you Live at Logan Farm Park featuring a free concert. Live at Logan Farm Park is the annual Acworth Arts Alliance and the Acworth Art House fundraiser. Event proceeds from sponsor tables support the Acworth Arts Alliance, specifically to fund a scholarship for students pursuing a degree in art as well as to fund arts initiatives in underfunded programs and among the underserved in our community. REGISTER FOR Horizon Spring Baseball
The Horizon League provides children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in athletic events, develop lasting relationships among their peers, coaches and parents and demonstrate to them that they are an important part of their community by creating an environment of inclusion for both the participants and their families. The League is open to youth and adult’s ages five and up. Teams are broken up by age groups. Games are non-competitive and each player on the roster gets on base before the opposing team gets to bat. Every effort is made to return players to their prior team. However, teams will have a player limit and team placement is based on first come, first serve. Special requests can only be considered based on available space on a team prior to Wednesday, March 23. Cost is $15 until March 23. This program is a fun, flexible running program designed to our kids active! The mission of Kennesaw Sole KIDZ is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle to the area youth through a running based program. Meeting location is the at the picnic pavilions at Swift-Cantrell Park. REGISTER FOR 4TH OF JULY PARADE – MARIETTA
The Marietta Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the application for the 2023 Let Freedom Ring July 4th Parade, on Tuesday, July 4th, is now open. School bands, military units, civic organizations, beauty queens, local Boys and Girl Scout clubs, area businesses and others can sign up online to be a part of this year’s parade. Parade applicants should apply online. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 26th at 5 pm.
