NOW TIL AUG SMITH GILBERT’S Garden with Wings Opens Butter Fly Exhibit.This year, the exhibit will be extended for two months, from June 1 to July 31, 2024. During Pollinator Palooza, visitors will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the Butterfly Exhibit without purchasing an additional butterfly house ticket. The event will also feature a variety of booths including arts, crafts and community partners focused on pollinator conservation, including Birds Georgia, Georgia Bat Working Group, Foodwell Alliance, Cobb County Master Gardeners and Socially Chy. FRI JUNE 14-16 MARIETTA CELEBRATES JUNETEENTH In Marietta, the Juneteenth celebrations are filled with various activities that engage the community in meaningful ways. The Cobb County Branch of the NAACP, in conjunction with the City of Marietta, is hosting the 21st annual Juneteenth Weekend Celebration in Marietta Square from June 14-16, 2024. This weekend kicks off with the All White Party on Friday from 7-11 pm, featuring the sounds of DJ Boogie. The heart of the celebration is the Cultural Festival on Saturday from 10 am-7 pm. This festival features an array of over 100 food and merchandise vendors, a health fair, children’s area, and a rich lineup of entertainment. On Sunday, Father’s Day, the celebration culminates with “A Salute to Fathers” from 2-6 pm. Admission to the festival is free

FRI JUNE 14 KENNESAW’S AMPHITHEATER GRAND OPENING. The City of Kennesaw is excited to announce the Grand Opening Celebration for The Piedmont Bank Amphitheater on Friday, June 14, at 6:00 p.m. The first concert of the new Kennesaw Concert Series, presented by Wellstar Health System, will follow, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The concert on June 14 will open with Leah Belle Faser at 6:30 p.m. and the headliner, September in the Park, will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. The Piedmont Bank Amphitheater and the Kennesaw Concert Series visit,

SAT JUNE 15 MARIETTA HISTORY CENTER PRESENTS CULTURES OF COBB. SAT JUNE 15 KENNESAW’S JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION The Kennesaw Police Department and its Citizen’s Advisory Board announces the fourth annual “One Community: A Juneteenth Celebration of Unity” on Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Swift-Cantrell Park. The greater Kennesaw community is invited to join in family-friendly activities like bouncy houses, police and fire truck displays, entertainment, and a historical Juneteenth presentation. The community “Unity Walk” state at 11 a.m. and more than 30 vendors, including food trucks, will participate at the event.

SAT JUNE 15 ACWORTH’S  JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION Concert on the Green  Concert on the Green: A Juneteenth Celebration will take place at Logan Farm Park on Saturday, June 15, 2024. The event opens at 5:00 p.m. with live music taking place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. SAT JUNE 15 ACWORTH HISTORIC TOURS Acworth is proud to highlight its rich history by opening three significant landmarks for public tours June 15th Visitors can explore the historical significance of these sites: Bethel A.M.E Church, 4826 School St. Acworth, Ga 30101,  Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 4255 Taylor St, Acworth, Ga 30101 and Rosenwald Schoolhouse, 4410 Cherokee St, Acworth, Ga 30101 Tours will be available on June 15th at the following times: 5:30 PM, 6:00 PM, and 6:30 PM. Each tour lasts approximately 10-15 minutes. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about Acworth’s past before enjoying the main event—the Juneteenth Concert at Logan Farm Park.

TUES JUNE 18 COBB COUNTY SAFETY VILLAGE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Visit with firefighters from Cobb Fire and see a working fire engine up close, tour Sparky’s house and learn from the experts the best ways to escape a fire, sit inside an ambulance and ask questions of the paramedics who save lives every day. Enjoy a puppet show in their mini-sized Strand Theater and learn about water safety, bike safety, car seat safety, seatbelt safety and more. Meet the Safety Village mascot, Sparky the firefighter Dalmatian, as well as several other community mascots who will make surprise appearances! No reservations required. Pay at the door (only $5 per person, $20 max/family, ages 2 and under free). All proceeds go to the Safety Village Foundation to fund future life-saving safety programs for children.

FRI JUNE 21 KENNESAW’S SUMMER SPECTACULAR Kick-off the start of the season with Kennesaw Parks & Recreation at our Summer Spectacular, presented by Renasant Bank and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta! Join us on Friday, June 21 for various fun-filled activities including inflatables, chalk contest, giveaways, vendors, and information regarding our fall programs. FRI JUNE 21 KENNESAW’S OUTDOOR MOVIE  The City of Kennesaw’s free Outdoor Movie Series will continue with “Disney’s Lilo and Stitch” (PG) on June 21 and “Top Gun: Maverick” (PG-13) on July 19 at Swift-Cantrell Park projected onto a giant inflatable screen after sundown. Swift-Cantrell Park is located at 3140 Old 41 Highway. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, etc. for their own comfort. No high-backed chairs, umbrellas, tents, pop-up canopies, etc. that could block the view of the movie for others. Food vendors and family-friendly activities will be available beginning at 6 PM

FRI JUNE 28 Music & Monarchs – Smith-Gilbert Gardens will host an enchanting evening of music and the beauty of nature at the Music & Monarchs concert on Friday, June 28! The community is invited to be immersed in the tranquil surroundings of the lush Gardens while listening to the lively tunes of The Dappled Grays. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the magic of the Butterfly Exhibit and meet the native butterflies as they flutter around. SAT JUNE 29 ACWORTH’S DOWNTOWN CLASSIC CAR CRUISE On Saturday, June 29,and Saturday, August 31, Acworth will host a Classic Car Cruise in Downtown Acworth. The event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street). The Lake City Cruisers partner with the City and the downtown Acworth merchants to hold these Classic Car Cruises. The event is free to the public. A $5 entry fee is requested for all vehicles in the cruise. All proceeds go to the Horizon Field, an all-inclusive special needs sports facility in Acworth.


THE THIRD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH ACWORTH’S Senior Luncheon Join us every third Wednesday of the month for lunch and bingo at the City of Acworth’s Senior Luncheon This program is FREE to all City of Acworth seniors and $10.00 to all outside the city limits. FIRST MONDAYS KENNESAW FARMERS MARKET This year’s market will take place on Mondays, with hours of operation from 3:30-7:00 p.m., and will be located at the corner of Main Street and Moon Station Road. The market season is set to open on Monday, May 6, and run through Monday, August 26. The market will close on May 27 (Memorial Day). FRIDAYS Acworth Farmers Market
 will take place on Friday mornings between April 5 and October 25 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The market is located in the Logan Farm Park Expansion, located at 4405 Cherokee Street in Acworth. Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh-baked bread, pies, cakes, honey, and jams to choose from each week.
