This Friday, May 3, is a perfect time to come out and “paint the town” at First Friday Art Walk. This burgeoning, eclectic art scene in Marietta is the perfect backdrop for an artful stroll. Held the first Friday of the month, April-October, Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour to Marietta’s diverse art scene. Art galleries, museums, cultural venues, restaurants and boutiques host artists within their stores and are open 5pm-9pm. Some of the artists featured for May are: Joyce Howell, Scott McQuarrie, Dominque Chaponot, Kee Carlisle and many more. For a complete listing check out our website. Maps of the venues are available at each participating merchant, the Marietta Visitors Bureau, at the Art Walk A-frame signs, from Art Walk Ambassadors and online at www.artwalkmarietta.com. There will also be performance artists based throughout the Square.

ART WITH HEART – FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK
Join us for an unforgettable evening of fun on Marietta Square May 3rd! Art with Heart is hosted by Arts of Cobb this year. “It is a free event AND open to the public.” There will be a Jazz band, food & drinks and 12 Celebrity Artists painting live!
The fun starts at 5pm with the live auction at 7:30. Our Celebrity Artists are well known Cobb County leaders. Sheriff Neil Warren, KSU Athletic Director Vaughn Williams, local business owners, artists and musicians. They are coming together to help raise money to support OFH Clothing for a Cause, a local non-profit assisting homeless children in our Cobb Schools with things like new socks, under garments, shoes, clothing, food, spirit wear and uniforms. This event will provide needed funding for this very successful OFH Kids program.
Each of our celebrity artists will be painting live! Their artwork will be auctioned off at the end of the evening to raise support along with some incredible artwork that has been donated by local artists. This is a “don’t miss” event! Come out to support your favorite spainter all for a good cause. Art of Cobb is located at 19 Powder Springs Street, just off the Square. It’s a free event and open to the public. FRIDAY, MAY 3rd (5-9pm). 2 Rules Fine Art hosts opening reception for “Dolls in the City,” a group exhibit by members of the Women’s Caucus for Art of Georgia to raise awareness about human sex trafficking. The reception is free and open to the public, and visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a group art project.
