HONORING OUR VETERANS -NOVEMBER 11

The communities of Acworth, Kennesaw and Marietta have events planned on Monday, November 11 to honor our Veterans who have fought to protect our freedoms and those still serving.  We are sharing these events with the public and hope you will attend at least one.  They are all free.

MARIETTA’S VETERAN’S DAY PARADE

Please join the City of Marietta and the Kiwanis Club of Marietta in honoring all veterans on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the 15th Annual Veterans Day Parade on the Marietta Square.
We hope to have a large turnout to honor all veterans and commemorate those who have paid the ultimate price in serving our great nation on Monday, November 11th at 11am on the Marietta Square.
The parade will begin at the Roswell Street Baptist Church at 10:45am and march up Roswell Street towards the Marietta Square and back down Lawrence Street with the intention of being on the Square by 11:11am. The Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at Noon at the Marietta Square with Grand Marshal Captain Charles E. Polk III as keynote speaker

Kennesaw to Honor Veterans at Luncheon

The City of Kennesaw will honor the service of military members past and present with a complimentary lunch on Monday, November 11 from noon – 2 pm at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive.
The Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304 is partnering with Kennesaw city officials and Parks and Recreation staff to host the lunch. Additional sponsors include Rafferty’s Restaurant & Bar, High Point Church, and Kennesaw Family Life Church. All veterans and active duty military are invited to attend. No identification will be required.
A small program will include acknowledgements from Mayor Derek Easterling, Assistant City Manager Marty Hughes, presentation of colors by North Cobb-Harrison NJROTC Unit, and a special ceremony by the Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304. ACWORTH’S Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Acworth is honored express appreciation and gratitude to those who have faithfully served their country and those currently serving. It is a privilege to have these brave men and women living in our community and to honor them with a Veterans Day Ceremony. Join us and keynote speaker Mayor Tommy Allegood on Monday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, home of the Veterans Memorial to honor our nation’s veterans.
The Veterans Memorial at Patriot’s Point at Cauble Park features the service flags of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Cost Guard all surrounding the American Flag. The concrete dome structure is surrounded by a paver walkway with engraved paver stones. You may honor a veteran by purchasing a 4×4 or 8×8 paver on the Acworth Parks and Recreation website.
