HALLOWEEN AND OTHER EVENTS COMING UP!

Sharing family friendly events coming up – dig out your favorite costume, grab your largest candy collector, there are several oppotunities starting this weekend to enjoy this Fall weather.

KENNESAW’S LAST 5K OF THE SEASON

SAT OCT 26 GARDEN GALLOP 7:00 am. The Garden Gallop 5K, benefiting Smith-Gilbert Gardens, is Saturday, October 26, 2019 in historic downtown Kennesaw. The 5K race is sanctioned as an official qualifier for the world famous Peachtree Road Race. This race is also the last 5K in the Kennesaw Grand Prix series. All runners enjoy free admission to Smith-Gilbert Gardens on Saturday, October 26 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – just bring your race bib! Proceeds from the Garden Gallop support Smith-Gilbert Gardens helping us plant for a greener, healthier, and more beautiful community. Register online at www.kennesawgrandprix.com.

HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS

SAT OCT 26 ACWORTH HALLOWEEN JAMBOOREE – 3 – 7 pm. The public is invited  to Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street) for a spooky good time!  This year’s Halloween fun will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the large field in front of the playground.  For a minimal charge, each child can participate in many different carnival type games and activities where they can win candy and prizes.  Costume contests, divided by age group, will be held throughout the event!  There will also be a FREE train ride, petting zoo, and more!
Parking can be found around Logan Farm Park, at the Acworth Community Center, Operations Building, Main Entrances, and School Street, and the corner of Taylor Street and Southside Drive.  There will be signage directing you to the event. SAT OCT 26 POST 304 HALLOWEEN PARTY 7:00 PM. We will have plenty of food and drink specials, and prizes for the best costumes.  If you have any questions, stop in and ask Sue, Cat or Kat at the post.  It promises to be an evening of “spook-tacular” fun and camaraderie with your Post family.


SATURDAY CAR SHOWS

SAT OCT 26 POST 304 CAR SHOW noon till 4. This year’s theme is a little scary, since it is the weekend before Halloween.  Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes, dress up their cars, and BRING LOTS OF CANDY for the Trunk-or-Treat part of the show.  Set  up starts at 10:00am. You can register online or download the registration form and mail it in. Visit Post304.org and click on car show event.

SAT OCT 26 ACWORTH CLASSIC CAR CRUISE NIGHT. The event will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Acworth.  The Lake City Cruisers partner with the city and downtown Acworth merchants to hold these Classic Car Cruises. The event is free to the public. A $2 entry fee is requested for all vehicles in the cruise.  All proceeds go to the Horizon Field, an all-inclusive special needs sports facility in Acworth. SUN OCT 27 MUMC FALL FESTIVAL The community is invited for the annual Fall Festival at Marietta FUMC on Sunday, October 27 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Enjoy trunk or treat, cake walk, costume contests, inflatables, hay ride and hot dog dinner. 56 Whitlock Ave, Marietta.

SUN OCT 27 KFBC TRUNKFEST 4-6 Come dressed up in your best costume and join us as we prove that “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” by dressing up as our Favorite Teams from sports, comics, movies, the Bible & more! Enjoy lots of candy, games, inflatables, a petting zoo & so much more! A food truck will also be on site with food to purchase. This event is for kids & families of all ages! Please try to keep the costumes family-friendly.

KENNESAW’S CANDY CRAWL

WED OCT 30 KENNESAW’S CANDY CRAWL – 4-6 pm downtown Kennesaw merchants.  Tour the downtown, visit each merchant and pick up your treats, refreshments and enjoy some crafts.Wear your favorite costume and bring a pail or sack to gather your goodies.  Maps will be available to show you the way.  Check out the Downtown Kennesaw Merchants FB page for more information.

ALERT ALERT – MARK YOUR CALENDARS

SAT NOV 2 – TASTE OF KENNESAW – 11-6. The Kennesaw Business Association and the City of Kennesaw invite you and your family to sample over thirty local restaurants from the Kennesaw and Cobb County area.  Main Street in downtown Kennesaw will be filled with delicious treats and fun activities. Make a day of it and plan on staying for the live concert from 293 Band which starts at 4:30.  Have an early dinner while you listen to one of the most fun acts you will see in the Atlanta area.  Enjoy the music covered by 293: Prince, Captain and Tennille, ELO, Commodores, Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Kenny Loggins, Journey, ABBA, Eurythmics, Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5, DNCE, Bruno Mars; Just to name a few. Admission to the Taste is FREE with food samples costing $1.00 to $4.00 each.
