Field of Flags – One Life Lost. One Flag Flown – September 11, 2016.

fieldofflagscityOn a sunny day in September of 2001, the world was forever changed. Almost 3,000 people were suddenly gone from this world. The Kiwanis Club of Marietta wants to be sure they will never be forgotten.  The 911 Field of Flags commemorative event will once again take place at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and will live on as a reminder of the legacy to the American Spirit of Courage, Hope and Honor.

This year’s Field of Flags events begins Friday, September 9 and goes through Friday September 16. The historic and horrific terrorist attack on New York City’s World Trade Center was the motivation for the creation of the Field of Flags by the Kiwanis Club of Marietta. Occurring every five years this powerful commemorative weekend includes a series of events to remind us of our loss and to honor those who sacrificed their lives trying to save others.

It  begins with a Freedom Concert at the Square in Marietta Friday night: Friday, September 9 8:00 – 10:30; featuring the Time Bandits with Special Guests. Tables are available on line at 911FIELD OF FLAGS.COM.
