Our cities in Cobb County make sure we don’t have to travel far to enjoy a parade, arts and crafts, music and entertainment and of course the grand finale FIREWORKS. Included here are Acworth’s, Kennesaw’s Marietta’s and Powder Spring’s activities for July 3 and July 4. We wish you a safe celebration and enjoy the holiday.
Kennesaw’s Salute to America – July 3
The City of Kennesaw will host its annual Independence Day celebration of freedom, music and fireworks on Friday, July 3 from 6 -10 pm in downtown Kennesaw. Admission is free.
On the Main Street stage from 7 – 9:30 pm, Last Five Standing, an Atlanta-based cover band, will play your favorite tunes spanning from classic rock and MTV era ‘80s music to current, upbeat Top 40 hits.
From 6 – 7:30 pm on the feature stage in Depot Park, the United States Air Force Band of the West’s Concert Band will perform. This 45 member ensemble of Air Force professional musicians have a music repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day, featuring classical and Broadway music as well as Sousa marches and popular hits. From 8 – 9:30 pm, DEPARTURE, arguably the best, most respected Journey tribute band in the nation, plays all the hits of the ‘80s rock super group. The Atlanta-based band was voted “Best Local Entertainer” in 2014 by Gwinnett Magazine.
A six-foot rectangular table located in front of the Depot stage can be reserved for $75. Each table seats six persons (chairs are included). With the exception of reserved tables near the Depot stage, all seating will be general admission, so bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chairs.
In addition to street vendor and sponsor booths, attractions will include free and pay-to-play inflatable amusements and mechanical rides. A wide selection of entrées, cold beverages and snacks will be available for purchase. Attendees may bring picnic baskets or coolers. Grills will not be allowed.
Possession or consumption of any alcoholic beverages is not permitted. Kennesaw city parks are “Breathe Easy Zones”; tobacco products, smoking and e-cigarettes are prohibited in Depot Park.
The event may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather conditions.
ACWORTH’S Let Freedom Ring – july 4
The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta.
On Saturday, July 4 enjoy live music and fireworks at Cauble Park. Live music starts at 4:00 p.m. The Paul Hand Band will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. leading up to headliners “FLASHBACK” at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
For more than fifteen years, Flashback, the Party Band, has been instrumental in creating truly memorable celebrations throughout the Southeast. And has been a long time crowd pleaser at Acworth’s Fourth of July celebration. Flashback takes you through decades of classics; from the best of Motown, Beach, and Disco, then all the way into Current Top Hits. Guests experience an interactive and energetic performance while dancing to song after song!
This Party Band showcases phenomenal musicians, clever choreography, breathtaking vocals, and carefully chosen medleys of all your favorite songs. Flashback exceeds your every expectation and ensures that your guests have the time of their lives. Each of the seasoned musicians in Flashback bring years of experience and unimaginable talent to the stage.
The core band consists of Lead Vocalist, Horn Player, and Keyboardist, Dwane Abney, Lead Vocalists Jessica Moore and Reggie Brown, Guitarist and Vocalist, Chris Greene, High-Energy Drummer, Mike Graci, and Vocalist Monty Johnston, who also plays the Keyboards and a variety of Horns.
Admission to the concert is free; however tables are available for the July 4 concert. Tables are $50 each for City of Acworth residents and $70 for non-residents. With the table you get 6 chairs and one parking pass. This parking pass will allow you to park at Cauble Park as long as spots remain available. Parking at Cauble Park is by special pass only on July 4, but you are not guaranteed a parking spot at Cauble Park with this pass so please plan on arriving early. There will be food vendors on-site selling a variety of options beginning at noon.
If you do not have a parking pass or if the parking is full, you will need to park downtown. and either walk or take a shuttle down to the park. The shuttle service is free. If you choose to park downtown, shuttles will pick you up at the city hall parking lot and the post office parking lot. Shuttles will begin running at noon.

City of Marietta CELEBRATES July 4, 2015
Grab your American flag, put on your red, white and blue, and celebrate America’s independence July 4, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. with an Independence Day parade and celebration on the Square presented by Superior Plumbing, free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and the Downtown Marietta Development Authority fireworks finale. Throughout the day, more than 80,000 people are expected to celebrate on the Square with great food, fun activities, the best arts and crafts around and free entertainment from different local entertainers including rockin’ country band Twisted Whiskey and Red Bow Record artist David Fanning, presented by 94.9 The Bull.
The Marietta Independence Day parade is scheduled to include more than 115 entries with more than 40 floats and approximately 2,000 participants. Entries include marching units from the city of Marietta, civic organizations, beauty queens, scouts and local businesses. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church and travels west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway.
Crafts, food and carnival: Arts and crafts show with nearly 100 unique handcrafted vendors: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. ;Food concessions: Anything to please the palate from ice products to cool you down to corndogs and BBQ to satisfy your appetite. 10 a.m.-9 p.m. ;Kid’s Zone – huge interactive kids play area: 10 a.m.-dark; tickets for games available at booths located throughout the park

Downtown Marietta Development Authority Fireworks
The Downtown Marietta Development Authority(DMDA) fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be shot from the First United Methodist Church parking lot. If bad weather is expected, the fireworks may begin a few minutes early, to ensure the entire display is completed. If you want to watch the DMDA fireworks, make sure you get there early to grab a spot because traffic is expected to be heavy.
Free parking is available in the two parking decks east of Cherokee Street. They can be reached from Lawrence Street or Lemon Street during the day. Free parking is also available in the parking deck at Marietta City Hall, 205 Lawrence St.
Free parking and Trolley shuttle service is available at Grace Pointe Church on Atlanta Street from 7-10 p.m. Firework parking will be available in the parking decks located around the Square.
POWDER SPRINGS ~JULY 4TH
Bring your chairs and blankets, relax, eat mouth-watering delights while enjoying entertainment on the big stage, let the kids play on a variety of interactive inflatable activities, then get ready for a tremendous patriotic program delivered by Mayor Pat Vaughn and finally end with a phenomenal fireworks show! Can you think of a better way to celebrate our nation’s birthday? Bring your appetite because there will be plenty to choose from like corndogs, Philly cheese streaks, pizza, hotdogs, Italian sausage, chicken fingers, fries and more. Then for dessert indulge in fried candy bars, funnel cakes, shaved ice, cotton candy, kettle corn, sno-cones, frozen pink lemonade, and smoothies. Festivities start in downtown Powder Springs at 4:00 p.m. Free Admission, Free Parking, Free concerts, and Free Fireworks.
