MARIETTA POPS ORCHESTRA

Marietta Pops Orchestra is back in business after having to pause during our recent pandemic and is ready to present their popular holiday concert on Saturday, December 11th. This year’s concert is held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Marietta. The sanctuary seats eight hundred, allowing listeners to spread out as they feel necessary. There are two concerts on that date to choose from, one at 5:00 and the other one at 7:30. The concerts last a little over an hour and include an intermission. Along with singalongs of popular holiday songs and carols, there are traditional holiday pieces including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells Forever, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting), I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, and many more including a surprise bonus piece.

The Orchestra’s Founding Conductor and Music Director, Dr. Paul Hill, has been serving as the Director/Music Minister at First Baptist Church Marietta for over twenty-two years. His purpose in starting this orchestra eleven years ago was to re-engage musicians who otherwise would have no place to continue performing their instrument. Ranging from forty-five to sixty players, this orchestra has delighted audiences at every concert. The concert tickets are only $20 and children under ten years old are free. Performing about twenty songs results in just a dollar a song! You can purchase tickets online at mariettapops.org or purchase tickets at the door. For more information, visit their website or contact them at EMAIL: mariettapopsorchestra@gmail.com.

We are holding the door open for you to come and celebrate the music of the holidays with us on Saturday, December 11 at either 5:00pm or 7:30pm. Tickets are only $20 (that’s less than $1 a song!) and children under 10 are always free.

Come on back! The concert is just a little over an hour and that’s with an intermission. Come at 5:00 and go out to eat afterward–or go out to eat before and cap off your night with a fun holiday concert.
