Fall is in the air, and safe and sane Halloween events are planned beginning this weekend for our communities.  Check it out, bring your kids, or bring the kid in yourself!

MARIETTA’S HARVESTFEST

Marietta’s HarvestFest is an annual festival held each October. The festival includes the HarvestFest Arts & Crafts Show, Touch-A-Truck, Scarecrows In The Square, Costume Contest, Pie Eating Contest presented by Pie Bar and Halloween Happenings kid’s festival. The festival is sure to please the whole family!

Event Schedule

HarvestFest Market: Handmade Arts & Crafts 9:00AM to 5:00PM The HarvestFest Market draws exhibitors from the southern states, including many local vendors, showcasing and selling their handmade arts & crafts.

Touch-A-Truck 10:00AM to 2:00PM Festival-goers of all ages will enjoy this portion of the event. Many City of Marietta vehicles will be on display for an up-close experience, such as firetrucks, police cars, tractors, tow trucks, and many more!

Annual Pie Eating Contest Registration is now open for the City’s 3rd Annual Pie Eating Contest at the Annual Harvestfest event on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Are you the fastest pie eater in the City of Marietta? Partnering with the Square’s very own Pie Bar,  this is sure to be the most fun you have ever had while eating dessert! Pie Bar of Marietta will be supplying 8” round Pumpkin Pies as well as the Grand Prize and 1-3rd Place Prizes for each age category! The event will be held Saturday, October 21st at 11:00AM prior to Halloween Happenings in front of the stage in Glover Park on the Marietta Square. Registration is FREE, but participants must be aged 6 or older to participate.

Halloween Happenings Kid’s Festival 1:00PM to 5:00PM

Calling all kids to come dressed in their favorite costume with a trick-or-treat bag! Halloween Happenings is a kid’s festival for children ages 12 and younger. Carnival games, inflatable houses, candy and other special activities make this a safe and fun fall event. Costume Contest 2:00PM to 3:00PM *Contestants should arrive to the stage at 1:30PM to receive a contestant number. Come dressed in your best handmade costume! Contest starts at 2:00PM at the Glover Park Stage with our littlest contestants. Categories for the contest are: 1st-3rd Place Age Group Winners 1 year old and younger, 2 to 3 years old, 4 to 6 years old, 7 to 8 years old, 9 to 10 years old, and 11 to 12 years old.
Overall 1st-3rd Group category (groups are minimum of 2 contestants and any age).
The pet costume contest at 3:00PM will close out the show with an Overall Grand Prize and 1st thru 3rd place winners.

 

ACWORTH’S Halloween JamBOOree AND SAFE-O-WEEN

Looking for a fun Halloween event to take the kids to? Our city team has you covered! Acworth Parks, Recreation, and Community Resource Department is excited to host the Halloween JamBOOree at Logan Farm Park on Saturday, October 21 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. This vibrant event returns this year full of carnival style games, bounce houses and trick-or-treating! The Acworth Power and Public Works and Acworth Police teams join forces on Halloween to bring families the opportunity to enjoy a spooky and safe trick-or-treating opportunity at their annual Safe-O-Ween event from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on October 31 at the Acworth Police Department. Our city team works hard on the planning of these events and loves to bring the festivities to the community we love to serve!

 

DOWNTOWN KENNESAW CANDY CRAWL

Join the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association & the Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority for an evening of trick-or-treating and not-so-scary Halloween fun on Friday, October 27!

Trick-or-Treat with the Downtown Merchants & join in the Halloween Fun from 4:00 – 7:00 PM! New this year, businesses and organizations wishing to participate, but located outside of the Downtown walking area can purchase booth-space from the KDMA for $25. Those interested in booth space should contact Jill Smith at Turquoise Otter.

Activities include trick-or-treating, bounce houses, games, Halloween cartoons, and carnival-style food vendors.

KENNESAW’S NIGHTMARE ON MAIN 5K – SATURDAY OCTOBER 28

Get your Halloween Costume ready to hit the road!

NOW IS THE Time to register for the last 5K of the season hosted by the Kennesaw Grand Prix. The NIGHTMARE ON MAIN 5K is the fourth race of the 2023 Kennesaw Grand Prix Series and will be held on Saturday, OCTOBER 28 If you are a runner, how about setting your PR on an amazing, fast and flat course inside the city limits of Kennesaw?
The race includes a one mile fun run at 7:30 a.m.; the 5K at 8 a.m.; and a Tot Trot at 8:55 a.m. Awards are presented at the after party on Main Street at 9:15 a.m.

The NIGHTMARE ON MAIN 5K is run on a mostly flat and fast asphalt course, professionally timed and USAT&F Certified, through Downtown Kennesaw and Swift-Cantrell Park. The course is perfect for competitive runners seeking a qualifying time for the Peachtree Road Race.
Fees are: 5K – $35 (now – Oct 27) Day of Registration $45; 1 Mile Fun Run – $20; Tot Trot – $5. After-party activities include snacks and water for participants, music and local vendors!
