Taste of Kennesaw Winners for 2015

The 2015 Taste of Kennesaw was held on Saturday, September 12.  The weather could not have been more perfect, and the variety of food was gave attendees an opportunity to sample from restaurants they had never visited – yet!  The competition was fierce, but the winners are in.

kmhsThe winner of the Carrabba’s Culinary Cookoff for high school culinary artists was the team from Kennesaw Mountain High School – Sedrick Sweat, Emily Fred, Rehmat Babar, Molly Layde and coach Susan Rutledge won a $1,000 prize for their school culinary arts program and $1,000 to share among the team.  Also competing were Allatoona, North Cobb and Kell High Schools.

IMG950102A fierce battle raged between North Cobb High School and Kennesaw Mountain High School in the battle of the cans — NCHS urged on by Steve Revard, Assistant Principal, took the trophy for most cans collected – a whopping 6084.  Food drive benefits Shiloh United Methodist Church (who are the real winners).  A big thank you to every student who participated.

 

And then the professionals took the stage:  Winner of the best-looking booth for the Taste of Kennesaw Festival was Copeland’s — the colors, beads and all-over-the-top decor was as great as their food. Pictured with KBA President Kim Perez is The winner for Best Appetizer and Best Desert – a double winner! Five40 Kitchen and Social House won both awards! Best Entree — won by Dogwood Terrace Restaurant, Acworth. Best Presentation – won by Trackside Grill
