Hometown hero Zack Everhart, joined by eleven other Season 11 contestants of the Emmy-award winning Fox TV dance completion TV show So You Think You Can Dance, will be special guests at the annual Kennesaw Santa Parade and Day with Santa on Saturday, December 6. The parade through downtown Kennesaw begins at noon.
Everhart, who finished fourth in the competition, will be joined by winner Ricky Ubeda, runner up Valerie Rockey, third place finisher Jessica Richens, as well as eight other Top 20 cast members. The group is currently touring across North America and is scheduled to perform in more than 70 cities.
So You Think You Can Dance features a tiered format where dancers from a variety of styles including classical, contemporary, ballroom, hip-hop, street, club, jazz, and musical theatre enter open auditions across the U.S. to showcase their unique styles and talents. If allowed to move forward, they must then go through additional rounds of auditions to test their ability to adapt to different styles. Finalists move on where they perform solo, duet, and group dance numbers in a variety of styles and compete for the votes of the broadcast viewing audience and a panel of judges.
“It’s our pleasure to welcome Zack back and we’re excited that he brought so many of his friends,” said Mayor Mark Mathews. “Zack is such a great role model for young people everywhere, but especially here in Kennesaw. His success is well deserved.”
