Mary never met a stranger! To know Mary was to love her. She would always greet everyone she met with a smile and an open hand or ear to listen. Mary was blessed to have so many friends all of which she cherished and many of whom she considers “Family” to this day.

She spent her entire life working to help others in need. She began her career at Walter E Fernald State School in Waltham, MA at the age of 16 working with physically and developmentally challenged adults. From there her journey led her to become a Physical Therapy Assistant.

In 1992, the family moved to Kennesaw, GA where she began a 25+ year career with The Tommy Nobis Center, continuing her lifelong journey helping others by placing and training individuals with special needs in employable positions as a Job Coach. Many of the programs she developed are still employee individuals to this day, and her legacy of building an inclusive workforce will continue forever.

Mary was fortunate to live a life that was guided by her faith and passion for helping others, especially people in the special needs community. She was actively involved with Saint Catherine’s Disabilities Ministry for over 20 years . This passion encouraged her to assist with creating the Saint Joseph Catholic Church Disabilities FUN NIGHT! Ministry. Mary was known by all the participants for her creativity and monthly crafts and kind smile. Mary could always be found volunteering at Saint Joseph Catholic Church through different ministries and events as a Knight’s Lady of Saint Joseph Council 4599 Knights of Columbus.

One of Mary’s proudest accomplishments of her career was being awarded

The Civitan International
Georgia District, Area 3
2018 SERVANT’S HEART AWARD

Mary was a beloved wife, mom, Nanny, confidant, and dear friend to so many. She was blessed with an empathetic ear, compassionate heart, and wisdom which influenced the lives of her family and friends. Those who loved her received comfort and a sense of calm just by being in her presence. Her smile and laughter brightened every room she entered. She lived her life to the fullest each day. She lived a life with no regrets and made it her mission to make each day brighter for someone else. Her favorite days were spent loving her husband, children and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed.
