Our community loves Christmas and all the festivities that go with it.  Kicking off this week are the following in Acworth, Kennesaw, and Marietta — if you are magic you could make them all, as for me – will be in Acworth for Santa and Kennesaw for the parade for sure.  Carol Thompson

Kennesaw Tree Lighting
Join Mayor Easterling and other city officials at the Depot on Cherokee St (across from the museum) downtown Kennesaw on Tuesday, November 28 for the time-honored tradition of “flipping the switch” to illuminate the official Christmas tree. The free hour-long program begins at 6:00 pm and will include festive choral music and sing-along, light refreshments, and plenty of holiday cheer. SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO MARIETTA – NOV 30

The City of Marietta’s Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in conjunction with the arrival of Santa Claus on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Glover Park on the Marietta Square.

The fun begins at 4:00pm on Thursday, November 30 with performances by local school choruses. Santa makes his exciting grand entrance via a City of Marietta firetruck at 5:20pm followed by the lighting of the City’s Christmas Tree at 6pm. Additionally, children can meet Santa until 8pm that evening, as Santa must leave. to make his way back to the North Pole!

Families will now have the option of booking their Santa visit online (not available December 1st), while walkups will still be welcome. This year Santa will also be visiting with our furry friends, details are available on the website.

Starting December 1, 2017, the Santa Experience is brought to you by the Marietta Square Branding Project. Through their http://www.winterwonderlandmarietta.com/, you can book appointments with “The Classic Santa” or with “Santa.” While both Santas are the real deal, “Classic Santa” is the jolly fellow who has been on the Marietta Square for almost 20 years! “Santa” is the jolly fellow who may interact on a personal level with your children if you provide some details in the booking process.

This “Santa” is also lovingly known as Santa Paws!

Acworth’s Santa’s Arrival

It’s that special time again! The City of Acworth is excited to be partnering with NorthStar Church to make this year’s Santa’s Arrival the best yet!  Santa will be reaching downtown Acworth on Friday, December 1st.  Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and Santa is scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m. There will be a host of live performances until 9:00 p.m. to help Santa kickoff the holiday season.

Bring the entire family to hear Mayor Tommy Allegood read The Night Before Christmas and watch the lighting of the tree on Senator Russell Avenue. This year’s festivities will take place in front of Acworth City Hall and on the Plaza.

Enjoy pictures with Santa, eating candy canes with all his elves, and filling the streets with the holiday spirit. Plan on bringing your camera to capture the special moment, as there will be no photographer on-site. There will be train rides, marshmallow roasting, and hot chocolate.  Don’t forget to visit Frana Brown Park, where you can peruse the beautiful Festival of Trees!

Kennesaw’s Santa Parade and Holiday Activities

The City of Kennesaw will usher in the holiday season on Saturday, December 2 with a Main Street parade featuring marching bands, decorated floats, vintage cars, colorfully-costumed characters, and Santa Claus himself.

The parade begins at noon near the intersection of Park Drive and Main Street, proceeding south and east down Main Street, marching past Cherokee Street toward Cemetery Street.
The celebration continues at the Depot on Cherokee Street (across from the Southern Museum), until 6 pm with A Day with Santa presented by WellStar Health Systems.

Activities include a snow playground, inflatables and amusements, kid’s crafts, visits with Santa, stage entertainment, and a holiday market full of gift ideas and unique merchandise. Food vendors will be onsite.
