The third annual HH’art, was presented by Hickory Hills PTA, recently. It is a community arts collaboration between local, professional artists and the students of Hickory Hills Elementary Arts Academy, a Marietta City School.
Artists work with students to create an original piece of artwork in the artist’s style, culminating in a gallery showing and silent auction at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art Martinis and Music event on Friday, April 26, 2013.
This year’s artists included Johnny Walker, photographic arts, Laura Surace, Claire Dunaway Cyr, Darby Jones, Jill Alford and Katie Bush. New this year, Hickory Hills Art Teacher, Amanda Quay, directed the work of two original pieces in collaboration with every student at the school.
Pictured is a photo of Johnny Walker working with fourth grader James MacPherson. Mr. Walker had a great lesson in photography for the students and then allowed them to use his camera to capture their “perfect” shot. And James was responsible for getting a bicycle rack installed at the school. This was a special project for Johnny as he attended Hickory Hills Elementary School
The Photography winners are: first place winner: Kaylie Vincente.
