Miss Cobb County, 2017, Crowned: Meet Chari Guzman

Chari Guzman rocked the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Marietta with her vocal and dance performance to the popular Tina Turner favorite “Proud Mary” on her way to being named Miss Cobb County 2017 on Saturday night, Aug. 6th. She will now be active as a public relations ambassador during the coming year.  charitalent2Next June she will represent Cobb County in the Miss Georgia Pageant in Columbus where the winner advances to the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.  Ms. Guzman captured both preliminary awards in talent and lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit.   She is a 2013 graduate of Pebblebrook High School, Cobb County Center  for Excellence in the Performing Arts.  A sophomore biology major at Georgia State University, Perimeter College, she aspires to become a medical research doctor.

This was the 59th annual event sponsored by the Miss Cobb County Scholarship Pageant, Inc.  She was crowned by the 2016 Miss Cobb County, Brooke Doss, 22, a senior at Kennesaw State University. Ms. Doss was first runner-up in this year’s Miss Georgia Pageant.

 

Carley crowning sabrinaThe program featured also the crowning of the 2017 Miss Cobb County’s Outstanding Teen, Sabrina Elson, 16, who is a vocalist.  Carley Vogel, the 2016 Miss Cobb County, crowned her successor.  Ms. Elson will participate in Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen competition in Columbus in June.   Ms. Vogel was a top ten finalist in the state pageant this year.  The teen representative is appointed by the pageant.

3rd Runner-Up, Jordan Meachum, 19, Smyrna, tribal dance – “Introduction of the Bride”, $750 Cash Scholarship
