SAT, Sept. 3 – MON, Sept. 5 ART IN THE PARK The 36th-annual Art in the Park takes place in historic Marietta Square during all three days of Labor Day weekend. The only fine art festival in Cobb County, the outdoor, family-friendly event regularly welcomes more than 45,000 attendees and features 150+ artist booths, live music, children’s activities, the Chalk Spot and plenty of great food from surrounding restaurants.

The Artist Market welcomes 170 fine artists working in mediums including watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, pottery, woodworking, glass, photography, textiles and jewelry in fine metals and precious stones. All art is hand crafted, and artists are invited by an independent jury of art professionals. At the artist booths, not only can visitors browse and purchase art, they also have the chance to talk with the artists, some of whom offer demonstrations during the festival for a real behind-the-scenes experience. Artists also offer the opportunity for shoppers to commission pieces.

Local restaurants along the Square offering a variety of cuisine will provide indoor and outdoor seating for dining. Beer, wine, soft drinks and water will also be sold throughout the festival.

The gazebo welcomes local singer/songwriters throughout the three-day weekend. All live music performances at Art in the Park are free to enjoy. Bench seating is available, or attendees can bring a blanket or chairs to relax, making the gazebo the ideal spot to take a break, enjoy a to-go bite from the surrounding restaurants and unwind with a cool beverage or simply enjoy the music all day. Sponsored by the North Georgia State Fair.

Attendance at Marietta Art in the Park is free! $10 for Chalk Spot registration. Pre-registration is not required. Supplies are limited.

SUN & MON SEPT 4 & 5 NOSHFEST Celebrates Jewish Food & Culture. Temple Kol Emeth will host its annual Noshfest event on Sunday, September 4, and Monday, September 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the temple’s parking lot at 1415 Old Canton Road in Marietta.

“Noshfest isn’t just for our Jewish community members,” Jacoby added. “We welcome all our diverse neighbors from across the region to join us!” In addition to food and fun, festivalgoers will have the opportunity to learn about the Jewish culture through interactive exhibits and tour the Temple Kol Emeth sanctuary with a member of the ritual committee.

There is no cost to attend Noshfest, but festival organizers ask everyone attending to do a “Mitzvah” or “good deed” and bring two canned goods per family instead of a paid admission. All food collected on admission will go to MUST Ministries’ efforts to feed the hungry in Atlanta.
