Kennesaw Farmers Market Opens May 26
The Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority, in partnership with Kennesaw First Baptist Church, is excited to present the 2021 Kennesaw Farmers Market. This year’s market will take place on Wednesdays, with hours of operation from 3:30-7:30 PM, and will be located in the parking lot at Kennesaw First Baptist Church. The market season is set to open on Wednesday, May 26, and run through Wednesday, August 11.
The Market will feature farmers and makers, as well as some local favorite food trucks. On a typical Market day in summer, over 20 vendors will be set up offering their best vegetables, fruits, baked goods and specialty items.
Interested vendors may contact kennesawfarmersmarket@gmail.com for more information on vendor applications and scheduling. Vendors are encouraged but not required to accept electronic payments; market attendees should be aware that some vendors might accept cash only.

FRI JUNE 4 First Friday Concerts The Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority and the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association are excited to announce the inaugural First Friday Concert Series in Historic Downtown Kennesaw.
The Series, which runs from now through October, will hold the next concert on Friday JUNE 4, featuring Too Many Peachtree Streets. A groove funk soul band founded at jams in and around Marietta, Georgia. Check them out on FB.
From 6:00 to 9:00 PM, the community is invited to stroll through the Historic Downtown area and enjoy an evening of shopping, dining and live music. The concert will take place at the Pedestrian Underpass off Main Street and is FREE – bring a chair. Tables are available for reservation for $50. Tables will seat six individuals. HERO RUN 5K
A RACE BENEFITING WOUNDED VETERANS
The Hero Run, formerly known as Run for Wounded Warriors, Inc., is the inspiration of Jonathan Borden of Kennesaw, Georgia. On Memorial Day 2009, as a then seventeen-year-old senior Naval JROTC cadet at Kennesaw Mountain High School, Jonathan watched several biographies about severely wounded service men and women from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Jonathan was deeply moved by those bios and he was personally challenged to do something for those wounded heroes. In 2010 he and his family and friends held the inaugural Run for Wounded Warriors in which over 400 local runners participated.
The 11th annual Hero Run 5K venue is in historic downtown Kennesaw on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The event will include a 5K run/1-mile walk with the 5K race sanctioned as an official qualifier for the world famous Peachtree Road Race. This 5k race is also part of the Kennesaw Grand Prix series. With these credentials, we will attract both serious and recreational runners. The goal is to host 2000+ runners/walkers, raising funds that will be donated to local wounded veteran organizations.

Tie Dye Workshop
The City of Kennesaw’s Department of Parks & Recreation will host a Tie Dye Workshop as part of their Art in the Park Series at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Swift-Cantrell Park, located at 3140 Old 41 Highway. This workshop will kick-off a fun-filled evening prior to the screening of the second movie in the Outdoor Movie Series, School of Rock.
Parks & Rec staff will lead participants through the process of tie-dyeing. All supplies for tie-dye will be included. Participants can choose to bring three items of their own to tie-dye or choose to have the items provided for them (shirt, bag and choice of either a facemask or bandana). No artistic experience is necessary. Registration is open to all age groups.
Advanced registration is required; registration is $5 if participants supply their own items to tie-dye and $15 if the three items are provided for them (shirt, bag and choice of either a facemask or bandana). Registration is available online.
