HONORING OUR VETERANS – NOVEMBER. 11

Our community of Acworth, Kennesaw and Marietta, all honor our veterans on November 11.  It is possible to attend all three events – and then go home and take a nap!

MARIETTA’S 18th Annual Veterans Day Parade

Please join the City of Marietta and the Kiwanis Club of Marietta in honoring all veterans on Friday, November 11, 2022, at the 18th Annual Veterans Day Parade on the Marietta Square.

Let’s all turn out  to honor all veterans and commemorate those who have paid the ultimate price in serving our great nation on Friday, November 11th at 11am on the Marietta Square.

The parade will begin at the Roswell Street Baptist Church at 10:45am and march up towards the Marietta Square and back down Lawrence Street with the intention of being on the Square by 11:11am.

KENNESAW’S VETERAN’S DAY LUNCHEON

The City of Kennesaw will honor the service of military members past and present with a complimentary lunch on Friday, November 11 at Noon at the Ben Robertson Community Center, located at 2753 Watts Drive. All veterans and active-duty military are invited to attend. No identification will be required.

A small program will include acknowledgments from Mayor Derek Easterling, a special guest speaker, a presentation of colors by the North Cobb-Harrison NJROTC Unit and the POW/MIA recognition ceremony by the North Cobb American Legion Post 304. Guests are welcome.

This year’s Veterans Day Luncheon is presented by the North Cobb Rotary Club. Lunch will be presented by Copeland’s of Kennesaw.

ACWORTH’ VETERAN’S DAY CEREMONY

City of Acworth is honored express appreciation and gratitude to those who have faithfully served their country and those currently serving.  It is a privilege to have these brave men and women living in our community and to honor them with a Veterans Day Ceremony.  Join us and keynote speaker Mayor Tommy Allegood on Friday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, home of the Veterans Memorial to honor our nation’s veterans.

The Veterans Memorial at Patriot’s Point at Cauble Park features the service flags of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Cost Guard all surrounding the American Flag.  The concrete dome structure is surrounded by a paver walkway with engraved paver stones.  You may honor a veteran by purchasing a 4×4 or 8×8 paver on the Acworth Parks and Recreation website.
