PHANTOM OF THE OPERA AT THE STRAND

The Strand is doing it AGAIN this Sunday afternoon beginning at 2:30 with an organ pops pre-show and sing-a-long by Associate Strand Organist Eddie Hulsey, followed by a costume contest for those so inclined just before the film!! House Organist Ron Carter will accompany the restored blu-ray version of the Phantom of the Opera on the Strand’s Mighty Allen Theatre Organ..

Ron will use several musical themes with the main theme “Carol of the Bells” which was nominated for an Academy Award and used in the 1943 Phantom Film Production. It is a magnificent concerto which brings this silent version to life!!! The organ never sounded better and will be decorated for Halloween. There is just something unique and special about seeing and hearing a classic silent film accompanied live on the theatre organ in a restored 1935 art deco movie theatre!!!

The film will be over in plenty of time for trick or treating or for a leisurely dinner at one of the many restaurants on the Marietta square. Tickets are only $10 or $12 the day of the show. The box office opens 2hrs before showtime. Call the box office at 770-293-0080 or on the web at earlsmithstrand.org.
