FRI MAY 30 FREE GLOVER PARK CONCERT Come enjoy Canyonland featuring Michelle Malone – California Country Rock. Canyonland is a super group of Atlanta musicians formed in October 2021 who play the legendary songs of 70’s California Rock. Because of it’s easy So- Cal vibe and cheap rent, Laurel Canyon, CA. became the music mecca of the late 60’s and 70’s where talented twenty- something singer songwriters converged and together created a new music genre called country rock – And this is where the name Canyonland originates for the band.Canyonland performs the biggest hits of 70’s California Rock still heard on the radio by the legends who made them famous – The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Linda Ronstadt, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, Paul Simon, James Taylor and more. You’ll feel the years melt away as you recall the songs of your youth while Canyonland energetically brings them back to life. Canyonland’s versions of these legendary hits include classic 3, 4 and 5 part harmonies, bass, acoustic and electric guitar, drums and, to add a balanced acoustic twist, a mandolin. Marietta’s free concerts take place in Glover Park on the Maretta Square. All concerts begin at 8:00 on the last Friday of each month, April – September.

FRI JUNE 6 FIRST FRIDAY NIGHT CONCERT The First Friday Concert Series continues on June 6 with a performance by singer-songwriter Layne Denton. A North Georgia native, Denton delivers a soulful mix of blues and folk, showcasing a distinctive voice and a talent for heartfelt songwriting. His performances blend smooth melodies with a rich acoustic sound, creating an intimate and engaging live music experience. The concert will take place at Main Street Plaza from 7 to 9 p.m. and is free to attend. Guests can enjoy local brews and food while relaxing in the heart of Downtown Kennesaw. SAT JUNE 7 KENNESAW’S OUTDOOR MOVIES The City of Kennesaw’s free Outdoor Movie Series continues Saturday, June 7, at Swift-Cantrell Park with a showing of Moana 2 (PG). The movie will begin at 8:45 p.m. on a giant inflatable screen. Swift-Cantrell Park is located at 3140 Old 41 Highway.
Families are encouraged to arrive early with blankets, low-back chairs and picnic essentials to enjoy an evening under the stars. Please note that high-backed chairs, umbrellas, tents and canopies are not permitted to ensure clear viewing for all attendees.
Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with food vendors and family-friendly games in front of the screen, including a chalk contest, Unistellar telescope viewing and the Children’s Entrepreneur Market — a youth-powered marketplace where local vendors ages 5–16 will be selling handmade crafts, baked goods and artwork. The market offers a chance to support young entrepreneurs while discovering one-of-a-kind items.
A limited number of VIP tents and chair rentals are available. Each rental includes a 10-by-10-foot tent installed by Parks & Recreation staff, a 6-foot table and six chairs. Tents are $50 and are positioned toward the back of the viewing area to preserve sightlines. VIP renters may check in beginning at 5 p.m. Rentals can be reserved online at kennesawparksandrec.org.
