These sessions will include an overview of the proposal, live polling, and opportunities for Q&A. AUD’S are tiny homes placed in your backyard, for a family member or friend to live in.

FRI JULY 25 GLOVER PARK CONCERT SERIES The Stranger featuring Mike Santoro – A Billy Joel Tribute Band. Attendees can bring a picnic or dine in one of the many fine restaurants located on the square. All concerts begin at 8:00 on the last Friday of each month, April – September.   *Exception, August date is the 4th Friday. The concerts are held at Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square 50 N. SAT JULY 26 ACWORTH’S BIG RIG BACK TO SCHOOL BASH will be held at Logan Park from 10:00 am til 2:00 pm. The City of Acworth is excited to bring you a new touch-a-truck style event that will combine local businesses and the “Big Rigs” you see on the roads every day! This back-to-school bash will take place at Logan Farm Park on Saturday, July 26. We will have a “silent hour” from 9am – 10am with limited lights, sirens and sounds for our sensitive populations. From 10am – 2pm be ready for all the lights, sirens, horns and more! Food trucks will be present.

SAT JULY 26 SOUTHERN MUSEUM’S RAILROAD RENDEVOUS The popular Railroad Rendezvous event returns to the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History on Saturday, July 26. The day-long celebration of railroads and transportation features blacksmithing demonstrations, ham radio and telegraph displays, and an interactive model train exhibit. A special children’s area will highlight historic railroad jobs, including an interactive typewriter display. Guests can also take part in the “Board the General Experience,” stepping aboard the historic General locomotive from the Civil War’s Great Locomotive Chase of 1862. This tour costs $5 per person; children 2 and under are free. Proceeds support the Kennesaw Museum Foundation. FRI AUG 1. the First Friday Concert Series welcomes 96K to the Main Street Plaza stage. Known for their energetic performances that blend pop, rock, and soul, 96K delivers a dynamic and engaging live music experience. With a talented lineup of musicians and vocalists, the band creates an electric atmosphere perfect for a summer evening in Downtown Kennesaw. The concert runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and is free to attend. FRI & SAT AUG 15 AND 16 PIGS & PEACHES BBQ FESTIVAL Celebrating its 25th year, the Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival has become a signature summer tradition for food lovers, music fans and craft beer enthusiasts. With dozens of vendors, exhibitors and barbecue teams, the event delivers two full days of live entertainment, cool drinks and big flavor. This year’s Pigs and Peaches BBQ Festival will be held at the United Bankshares Amphitheater. Moving from Adams Park to the Amphitheater creates more space and will upgrade the live music experience for the attendees. At the heart of the festival is a Kansas City Barbeque Society-sanctioned competition, officially recognized as part of the Georgia BBQ Championship series. Additional contests include the Backyard cook-off, the Anything Butt competition and the Peach Dessert challenge. More than $16,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded.

WED AUG 20, 2025. City of Acworth’s Senior Luncheon: Senior luncheons are held at Acworth Community Center. The August luncheon is Wednesday August 20. Register online at www.acworthparksandrecreation.org. Join us every third Wednesday of the month for the City of Acworth’s Senior Luncheon. Come join us for lunch and Bingo. This program is free to City Residents 55 and up, but you must register to attend. Registration closes 1 week before the luncheon.

SAT AUG 23 ACWORTH BOOK & STORYTELLING FESTIVAL hosted by Acworth Cultural Arts will be he’d at the Roberts School, 4681 School Street, Acworth from 10:00 am til 3:00 pm. Join us for a day celebrating the power of words! This year’s festival brings together an exciting mix of local and regional authors across a variety of genres, professional storytellers, vendors, and a dynamic panel discussion — all centered around the 2025 theme: “Ink & Echo: Writing the stories. Speaking the truth.” Whether you’re a reader, writer, or lover of stories in all forms, the Acworth Book & Storytelling Festival offers something for everyone. Come be inspired, meet fellow book lovers, and explore the art of storytelling in its many voices.

SAT AUG 30 ACWORTH’S DOWNTOWN CLASSIC CAR CRUISE On Saturday, August 30, Acworth will host a Classic Car Cruise in Downtown Acworth. The event will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street). The Lake City Cruisers partner with the City and the downtown Acworth merchants to hold these Classic Car Cruises. The event is free to the public. A $5 entry fee is requested for all vehicles in the cruise. All proceeds go to the Horizon Field, an all-inclusive special needs sports facility in Acworth. MON KENNESAW FARMER’S MARKET OPENS Monday, May 5, at the city-owned parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Moon Station Road. The market will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Monday through August 25, with the exception of May 27 (Memorial Day) when the market will be closed.Shoppers can look forward to a variety of fresh produce, local vegetables, fruits, baked goods and specialty items provided by area farmers and makers. This event offers a unique opportunity to support local vendors while enjoying a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere.In case of inclement weather, the market will proceed rain or shine unless safety concerns require cancellation. FRI Acworth Farmers Market will take place on Friday mornings between April 5 and October 25 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The market is located in the Logan Farm Park Expansion, located at 4405 Cherokee Street in Acworth. Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh-baked bread, pies, cakes, honey, and jams to choose from each week. This year’s market will be bigger and better than previous years and shoppers won’t believe the selection of homegrown goodies!
