Art with Heart Popular Event at May’s First Friday Art Walk

L-r Richard Block, Wayne Dodd, John Loud, Meral Clarke, Mark Zangari, Glenn Christian and Brenda Hunt Borden.

The room was filled with excitement as eleven celebrity artists were given about 2 hours to paint their master pieces. Surrounded by families and friends, cheering them on and hanging over their shoulders the artists had to finish in time for their masterpieces to be sold to the highest bidder. It was a fun evening open to the public. Incredible food, great Jazz, drinks and even a coffee and dessert bar were enjoyed by all. Raffle prizes and whimsical chairs for auction added to the fun. The event was abuzz with excitement as artists from several business associations and downtown Marietta business owners participated.

The annual event draws local business leaders, the community and a need all together each year for this very different kind of fund raiser. All of the funds raised went to OFH Clothing for a Cause, a local ministry that serves our homeless children in Cobb County schools. Bill Borden yelled “SOLD!” at the Annual Art with Heart Event held at The Arts of Cobb May 3rd and as a result over 250 children will receive a pair of shoes with the funds raised at the event.  For more information on how you can help OFH Clothing for a Cause provide for Cobb’s homeless children visit OFH Clothing for a Cause or call 770-222-6775.
