For MLK Day 2023, the City of Acworth is hosting a community wide donation drive and we are partnering with our churches and highlighting their specific needs. We will collect donations over the next few weeks and then on Monday, January 16th, we will utilize volunteers to organize and distribute donated goods to partner churches that day.
The Acworth MLK Celebration and Day of Service will be held Monday, January 16, 2023. The community is welcome to join us for a light welcome breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the Roberts School Community and Education Center. Following the welcome breakfast, the Unity Walk will begin at 9:15 a.m. and leave from the Roberts School and finish at the Acworth Community Center. Our program honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the Tanyard Creek Overlook of the Acworth Community Center. Our service project will begin shortly after the program concludes at 11:00 a.m.
