From a field of fifteen accomplished and talented young women, Victoria Hill was named the 2018 Miss Cobb County in the 60th anniversary pageant at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre, Cobb County Civic Center , in Marietta, Aug. 12. The nineteen-year-old sophomore at Reinhardt University captured the Donna Chastain Talent award for her well-executed operatic performance of “Chacun le Sait” from the opera, The Daughter of the Regiment. She also received first place in the National NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Competition for Classical Women HS in Colorado earlier this summer. She is the daughter of John and Christene Hill of Canton.
Carley Vogel, the sixteen-year-old daughter of Jim and Amanda Vogel of Acworth, was crowned the new Miss Cobb County’s Outstanding Teen. A classical singer, she is a junior at Pebblebrook High School, Cobb County Centre for Excellence in the Performing Arts, where she performs with the highly acclaimed ComPAny 2018. The Miss Cobb Pageant appoints the teen representative.
Both of the new titleholders will represent Cobb County in the state competition in Columbus next June.
The state teen winner advances to Miss America’s Outstanding Teen contest in Orlando, FL., while the next Miss Georgia will compete in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, NJ.
The next event for the Miss Cobb Pageant is staging the North Georgia State Fair Pageant for ages
