UPCOMING EVENTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Three weekends of being stuck inside – too cold to play, shop, or visit outside – is two weekends too long.  Thought we would share some family fun activities coming up in Acworth, Kennesaw, and Marietta.  Don’t forget to send us your snow pictures.  Weather is going to be wonderful this weekend.

SAT FEB 7: Crushin’ For A Cause Celebrity Home Run Derby, takes place February 7!

Due to bad weather on January 31 the Celebrity Home Run Derby will be held on February 7th. It’s Back, Baseball Friends! Join The 6-4-3 Foundation and the SagerStrong Foundation for the third annual Crushin’ for a Cause Celebrity Home Run Derby on February 7th at Aviation Sports Complex, 455 Aviation Rd. Marietta, 30060. Sports fans of all ages are invited to join us for Crushin’ for a Cause – a baseball-themed festival-style afternoon of good food, family fun, baseball opportunities, music, silent auction and more, all leading up to the Celebrity Home Run Derby. Gates open at 12:30. The Prep Baseball GA Amateur Home Run Derby begins at 1:00 and the professional hitters take the field at 3:30! MON FEB 9: Please join Helping One Guy in honoring Tim McNutt and his family.

Monday, February 9th, please join Helping One Guy as we honor Tim McNutt and his family.  HOG will host a dinner in Tim’s honor from 6:00-8:00PM at NorthStar Church, in the Compass Auditorium at 3413 Blue Springs Road, Kennesaw, GA 30144. The dinner is provided at no charge to attendees, and HOG will be raising money to help Tim and his family.

Helping One Guy exists to help and support one man at a time, and his family, who is going through a life changing crisis. HOG provides that one man with a financial gift, rallies the community around him, and shows him that he is not walking alone. Friday, Feb. 13, 9AM – 3PM: Included with admission, we’ll have ID sheets + easy instructions so you can join in as a citizen scientist. Each year, participants see and hear around 30 different bird species throughout the Gardens. Join us and see who returns!  Bring your binoculars (or borrow kid-friendly ones from us!)

Saturday, Feb. 14, 9:15 – 10:15AM: Take it a step further with a guided Bird Walk led by Master Birders. We’ll look and listen for the many species that call the Gardens home, it’s a fun, relaxing way to learn and spot something new.

MON FEB 16- FRI FEB 20 Acworth’s Winter Break: Art Explosion Camp

 It’s time to get those creative juices flowing! School is out but Our Art Explosion Camp has a full week of non-stop art experiments and activities. Each day of camp will focus on a different art medium like fabrics and dyes, paper, paint, clay and more! Prepare to roll up your sleeves and create your next masterpiece. Campers are encouraged to dress in clothing ready to get painted, stained and splattered! Fees cover the cost of all art materials, supplies and field trip admission. Camp will be held  Monday, February 16, 2026 – Friday, February 20, 2026 SCHEDULE Daily Drop off – 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM; Camp Activity Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Daily Pick Up: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM; Cost: $150 R/ $175 NR. TUES FEB 17 – Kennesaw’s Mardi Gras on Main Street

Celebrate Mardi Gras on Main Street on February 17 from 5:30–7:30 PM with live music, festive flavors, and plenty of Big Easy spirit.

Enjoy tunes from the Atlanta Crawdaddies, sample free bites like gumbo from 1885 Grill – Kennesaw and mini pancakes from Mini Flipz, and keep an eye out for Mardi Gras beads and fun giveaways throughout the evening. Bring your friends AND family – experience Downtown Kennesaw in full celebration mode.

SAT FEB 21 – GET READY FOR THE POLAR PLUNGE

Special Olympics Georgia Polar Plunge
The Special Olympics Polar Plunge, hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Georgia, will take place at Acworth Beach at Cauble Park and returns on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Join the “coolest” event of the year!
The purpose behind the Polar Plunge is to support and spread awareness for the 17,429 Special Olympics Georgia athletes. The Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics. Many states across the nation participate in this annual event through the efforts of their Law Enforcement Torch Run program. The Polar Plunge is an official Law Enforcement Torch Run event.
