The Marietta Business Association was honored to have Cobb Commission Chair, Tim Lee give the “State of the County” to 150 business leaders in our community at our luncheon held Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Radisson Hotel sponsored by the Bank of North Georgia.

We were honored to have Vic Reynolds, Cobb District Attorney and several Law Enforcement represented including Deputy Chief Tim Cox, Cobb County and Deputy Chief Marty Ferrell, City of Marietta. In 2016, public safety will continue to be a top priority as the county begins planning a new police headquarters and a joint public safety training facility. The Cobb Police Department will also work closely with the Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office to implement one of the strongest anti-gang initiatives in the state. Funds from the 2016 voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax will also continue to improve transportation around our county. Public safety improvements were achieved, as well as fully funding 80 new police officer positions.

The next luncheon meeting of the Marietta Business Association will be February 8, 2016, featuring a  panel discussion with Tom Croteau, Deputy Commissioner, Global Commerce, Georgia Department of Economic Development; Beth Sessoms, Economic Development, City of Marietta; Brooks Mathis, Sr. VP Economic Development, Cobb Chamber of Commerce with moderator, Mark Matthews, Atlanta Regional Commission – “Working Together for Economic Development in Georgia – State- Regional- Local Agencies”.  The luncheon will be held at the Radisson Hotel Atlanta NW at noon.
