REGISTER NOW AND BETWEEN SEPT 14 FOR SCARECROWS ON MAIN Participants are invited to design and display a freestanding scarecrow along Main Street. Scarecrows will be installed between Thursday, Sept. 25, and Sunday, Sept. 28. Assigned locations will be provided by Thursday, Sept. 18. Displays must be removed between Thursday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 9. The participation fee is $25, payable to the Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority. Space is limited to 75 scarecrow spots. SAT SEPT 13 New Echota STATE PARK New Echota-Cherokee Capital State Historic will be hosting Girl Scouts Loves State Parks Day on Saturday, September 13th, 2025. This event will take place all day with special tours at 10a.m. and 1p.m. with the Cherokee Phoenix Print shop open from 10 AM- 2:30 PM. Visitors coming to the site will enjoy a day of history and adventure with a chance to learn more about the Cherokee history and the Trail of Tears Regular admission fee required: $6-$8. WED SEPT 17 THE CITY OF ACWORTH INVITES OUR COMMUNITY TO JOIN THEM on Constitution Day, Wednesday, September 17 at 11:30 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial at Patriot’s Point in Cauble Park (4425 Beach Street Acworth, GA 30101) for the dedication of a granite marker honoring the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the American Independence. This marker is being provided by the John Collins Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). Two hundred forty-nine years ago on July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress made a brave move by voting to approve the Declaration of Independence and while this was indeed a brave move by Congress and all 56 signers, this act set in motion the beginning of The Great Experiment, a Constitutional Republic, which has endured many struggles and hardships, but still stands today as we prepare to celebrate 250 years of American Independence.
