REGISTER NOW AND BETWEEN SEPT 14 FOR SCARECROWS ON MAIN Participants are invited to design and display a freestanding scarecrow along Main Street. Scarecrows will be installed between Thursday, Sept. 25, and Sunday, Sept. 28. Assigned locations will be provided by Thursday, Sept. 18. Displays must be removed between Thursday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 9. The participation fee is $25, payable to the Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority. Space is limited to 75 scarecrow spots. SAT SEPT 13 New Echota STATE PARK New Echota-Cherokee Capital State Historic will be hosting Girl Scouts Loves State Parks Day on Saturday, September 13th, 2025. This event will take place all day with special tours at 10a.m. and 1p.m. with the Cherokee Phoenix Print shop open from 10 AM- 2:30 PM. Visitors coming to the site will enjoy a day of history and adventure with a chance to learn more about the Cherokee history and the Trail of Tears

SAT SEPT 13 THE ART HOUSE invites you to join them for their Opening Reception of their “Juried Exhibit at 4-7 pm. “The Little Shanty Stringtangle” will play American String Music during this event. Light Refreshments will be available.Weather permitting, we will utilize the deck for socializing. Also featured~ artwork by our Member Artists. We feature a wide variety of art from over 100 local artists. All artwork is for sale. Stop in soon for the best selection of art to choose from. WED SEPT 17 THE CITY OF ACWORTH INVITES OUR COMMUNITY TO JOIN THEM on Constitution Day, Wednesday, September 17 at 11:30 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial at Patriot’s Point in Cauble Park (4425 Beach Street Acworth, GA 30101) for the dedication of a granite marker honoring the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the American Independence. This marker is being provided by the John Collins Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).
Two hundred forty-nine years ago on July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress made a brave move by voting to approve the Declaration of Independence and while this was indeed a brave move by Congress and all 56 signers, this act set in motion the beginning of The Great Experiment, a Constitutional Republic, which has endured many struggles and hardships, but still stands today as we prepare to celebrate 250 years of American Independence.

WED SEPT 17 ACWORTH’S SENIOR LUNCHEON Senior luncheons are held at Acworth Community Center. The September luncheon is Wednesday Sept 17. Register online at www.acworthparksandrecreation.org. Join us every third Wednesday of the month for the City of Acworth’s Senior Luncheon. Come join us for lunch and Bingo. This program is free to City Residents 55 and up, but you must register to attend. Registration closes 1 week before the luncheon.

FRI SEPT 19 MOVIE NIGHT ON THE SQUARE. Christmas is coming early as the City of Marietta partners with The Elf on the Shelf for their 20th anniversary. A fun family event will be held on Friday, September 19 at 7:00 pm. Meets us in Glover Park at Marietta Square. You do know that Marietta is where The Elf on The Shelf all began. SAT SEPT 20 KENNESAW CONCERT Yacht Rock Schooner will headline the 2025 Kennesaw Concert Series on Sept. 20 at the United Bankshares Amphitheater at Depot Park. Known for faithful renditions of hits from Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald, the band delivers a high-energy show celebrating the smooth sounds of the late ’70s and early ’80s. WED SEPT 24 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration The Kennesaw Police Citizens Advisory Board will host a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration Sept. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ben Robertson Community Center. The family-friendly event will feature authentic foods from several countries, live music and dance performances showcasing the diversity of Hispanic traditions. THURS SEPT 25 WITNESS TO HOLOCAUST The Marietta History Center invites the public to a special evening of reflection and education on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, as we present the temporary traveling exhibit, “Witness to the Holocaust,” accompanied by a thought-provoking lecture from guest speaker M. SAT SEPT 27 BIG GAME DAY DOWNTOWN KENNESAW The United Bankshares Amphitheater at Depot Park will host Big Game Day on Sept. 27, showing SEC football on the big screen. Fans can catch the 3:30 p.m. showcase games and 7:30 p.m. primetime matchups. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, food and drinks to enjoy the games in a fun atmosphere.
