A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ORGANIZATIONS

We are pleased to share the good news from our local Knights of Columbus and their involvement in making our community a better place to live.

The Knights of Columbus at St. Clare Catholic Church

The Knights of Columbus at St. Clare Catholic Church donated funds and winter coats to Calvary Childrens Home on Lost Mtn Rd in Powder Springs. Shown in the picture are Knights Jerome Day and Steve Ailshie, along with Snyder Turner, Calvary’s Executive Director and his son Brent.  Calvary provides a safe, loving, Christian environment for children needing placement apart from their families where each child is given the opportunity to reach their full potential in life.  The Knights of Columbus are proud to support such a worthwhile organization in our community.

The Knights of Columbus at St. Clare Catholic Church donate funds and winter coats to Safe Path Childrens Advocacy Center in Cobb County.  Safe Path is an agency that provides the knowledge, skills, and resources needed by abused children in our community.  This is done in a neutral, child friendly environment, where professionals and agencies can use one location to evaluate these cases with minimum trauma to the child.  The Knights of Columbus are proud to be associated with such a worthwhile organization.  Shown in the picture are Knight Steve Ailshie presenting the check to Hana, Safe Path’s director of community relations and Gail, their director of intervention.

Saint Joseph’s SVdP & K of C 4599 Distributed over 7 Tons of Food to Families in Need for Thanksgiving

Volunteers from Saint Joseph’s Saint Vincent de Paul Society and the Knights of Columbus Council 4599 distributed over 7 tons of food in over 185 Thanksgiving food boxes complete with turkeys and 60+ pounds of food to local Cobb County families in need this past weekend.  This is an annual event for the outreach ministries of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Through generous contributions from the church parishioners, SVdP and the Knights were able to collect over 14,000 pounds of food and meat which was enough for a complete dinner for over 185 families with plenty of leftovers.

St Joseph’s SVdP & Knights of Columbus Council 4599 would like to thank all those that contributed and volunteered to make this year’s event another huge success.
