An incredible Veteran’s Memorial is so close to being built right here in Cobb county. We ask you to let your voice be heard and help get the Cobb Veterans Memorial Park built!
The Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation (CVMF) is reaching out to you today with a time-sensitive and urgent request. After years of hard work, we are on the verge of trying to secure the final funding needed to build a lasting tribute to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans.
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to vote on the final piece of funding for the Memorial Park on August 26th at 7:00 pm in the Public Meeting Room on the second floor of the David Hankerson Bldg., 100 Cherokee Street, Marietta, Georgia.
The County has already dedicated $3 million in SPLOST funds, but an additional $1 million is needed to fully fund the estimated $4.9 million construction cost. The Cobb Veterans Foundation has also raised over $1 million. Hence, this will be the most critical vote to date, as it will determine if the project has the necessary funds to move forward and get built. The money is available from the Revenue Above Project collected over the original 2022 splost. That RAP is $175 million
Commissioner Birrell has been VERY supportive so if you are writing her, please Thank her for all she’s done in trying to help the Memorial.
Your voice is needed to make this happen! Here’s how you can make a difference before the vote on August 26th: Contact the County Commissioners: Reach out to the Commissioners today and urge them to vote YES to approve the additional $1 million in SPLOST funding for the Cobb Veterans Memorial Park.

Spread the word: Encourage your friends, family, and fellow community members to contact the Commissioners and attend the meeting as well. The more voices they hear, the stronger our message will be.
