Mother Nature has promised a spectacular week, ending with awesome weather for March 22, 23, and 24.  So many events to chose from.  Enjoy!  And while we are thinking about it, the deadline for the April Bright Side Newspaper is Tuesday March 26, 2019.

GEORGIA JUNKIES 41 HOSTING VINTAGE MARKET

Love antiques, farmhouse chic, handcrafted items, rustic? Then you will want to attend Georgia Junkies 41 Vintage Market the weekend of March 22-24. It is just up the street in Cartersville at the Bartow County Saddle Club, 43 Saddle Club Drive.

This vendor fair has 125 booths available for selling everything. Expect to see unique handcrafted clothing, jewelry, recycled goods, furniture home decor, timeless treasures and lots of junk.

In addition to shopping you will enjoy demonstrations from one of the many creative artists or take a class from one of the designers, crafters or painters. There will be plenty of delicious food, great deals, live music, and good ole’ fashion family fun.

 

 

 

 

RIDE TO READ – MOTORCYCLE FUNDRAISER FOR

BROOKWOOD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Brookwood Christian School invites all motorcycle enthusiasts to join them as Brookwood honors National Reading Month by hosting their second charity motorcycle ride with Acworth’s very own Chef Henry Chandler leading the ride!  The event will be held on Saturday, March 23. Proceeds benefit the International Dyslexia Association – Georgia Chapter as well as Brookwood Christian’s Dyslexia Reading Programs.

The event includes breakfast catered by Henry’s Louisiana Grill & Henry’s Uptown at the school at 9:00 am and is included in the cost of the ride. Come enjoy biscuits/gravy, eggs, cajun grits, andouille sausage/bacon, coffee/juice, before KSU (that is Kick Stands Up) at 10:00 am with Chef Henry leading the way. The ride will last approximately two hours, includes a police escort through scenic surrounding areas and will end up back at Henry’s.

The cost is $30 per bike plus $20 for a passenger. If you don’t ride, come enjoy fellowship and breakfast for $10.00. More information and registration is available at www.brookwoodchristian.com. KSU Spring Arts Festival set for March 23
Annual festival is free and open to the public

Celebrate the arts at Kennesaw State University on Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. during the annual Spring Arts Festival. The free indoor/outdoor community event will feature an artists’ market with booths of artwork by local and traveling artists as well as make-and-take art, children’s activities, and numerous demonstrations and workshops.

This year, try your hand at drip painting, join in on an art history scavenger hunt, or undertake the exquisite corpse. From Junkyard Wars to 3-panel comics and Raku ceramics firing, children and adults will find exciting possibilities to explore, including 3D printing and creating your own percussion instruments.

Major attractions in and around the Visual Arts Building include an iron pour, glass blowing and blacksmithing demonstrations.

Artwork from local artists and students will be featured in the annual Pin-Up show in the Visual Arts building. The Pin-Up show allows them to compete in five categories: elementary, middle, high school, community and “Art from the Heart” for students with special needs.

FRI MAR 22 WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT TRIBUTE – liveSAFE Resources will host its 34th Annual Tribute to Women of Achievement on Friday, March 22 at the Cobb Galleria Centre from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fifteen outstanding women leaders from the Metro Atlanta area will be honored for their volunteer commitment to their community, and one will be named “Woman of the Year.”
