Faye Miller, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, dedicated teacher and friend has been reunited with her beloved husband, Jim. An only child, born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi, she attended Southern Miss, where she met her husband. She received her degree in elementary education. Faye and Jim moved to Georgia shortly after they were married and she got a job with the Cobb County School system. She would go on to teach Third grade for 31 years touching the lives of countless children. During that time she also helped open Big Shanty Elementary School and was awarded Teacher of the Year.
Upon retiring, Faye fulfilled a bucket list item and bought a condo in Myrtle Beach. She loved nothing more than gathering her family there for long days in the sun, good meals, and nights filled with putt-putt golf, silly games and laughter. When not spending time at her beach house, Faye could be found supporting her children in any way she could.
She reveled in helping Kim decorate her classroom, grade papers, and prepare lesson plans, and she always had a ready smile while helping Tod at various festivals and events, and logged countless hours working at the North Georgia State Fair answering phones and serving meals. She loved all things bright and colorful, was a world-class bargain shopper, and enjoyed leisurely lunches with cherished friends.
Faye’s most favorite past-time though, was doing anything with her precious grandchildren, but especially baking cookies, having slumber parties, and watching movies. Holidays were for creating memories…dying Easter eggs, making ginger bread houses, and big birthday celebrations with LOTS OF CAKE!!
