North Cobb HS ALUMNI GIVE BACK

North Cobb HS was established in 1958, replacing Acworth High School, and is one of the oldest high schools in Cobb County. Recently several of the older alumni decided to host a reunion spanning several years of high school graduates. (from 1958-1980)  Under the direction of Jackie Starnes and her hard working committee, Lamar Baldwin, Sue Corbin, Harry and Pat Gilbert, Dallas and Ernestine Godfrey, Richard & Ramona Mayes, Moose McCray, Nancy and Fuzz Smith, Mack Turner, Betsy Brown and Ken Wilbur the group put out the word on FB, The Bright Side, by telephone and on Saturday May 20, over 350 friends and family of NCHS gathered to celebrate, each bringing a dish to share.

This reunion committee of North Cobb friends and family, each had a talent, and combined, they created a wonderful reunion and fund raiser that everyone seemed to be pleased with. Admission was $5 and the proceeds were earmarked for the NCHS Special Needs students

On June 29, Jackie Starnes presented a check in the amount of $2743 to NCHS principal, J. Horton.  Jackie Turner, Administrator over Special Education, advises that the money will be used to purchase an interactive tool for these students to use to enhance their experiences with curriculum and technology.
