Marietta Square Art Walk – April 3, 2015

Jim Morris, The 8th Annual Marietta Square Art Walk officially begins April 3, 2015, and continues each first Friday through November. Art lovers enjoy an evening stroll through the charming streets of Marietta Square during this free, self-guided tour featuring local art and live music. The Beer Garden, a beer and wine garden nestled behind Cool Beans continues during this 2015 season. Guests of the The Beer Garden can purchase cold beverages and enjoy live music while watching art come alive in Atherton Square.

Event-goers can expect local restaurants, boutiques, and galleries to offer extended evening hours for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Throughout the evening, artists display their works for sale along the sidewalks in front of participating boutiques, restaurants, and cultural organizations. best in showOne artist each month is awarded “Best in Show,” and given the opportunity to display art in November at one of three local gallery sponsors: dk Gallery, Red Door Gallery & Studio, and 2 Rules Fine Art. dk Gallery is Breaking the Rules

We are thrilled to announce the opening of the 2015 First Friday Art Walk season. dk Gallery will kick this art walk season with an abstraction show featuring dk Gallery artists Clara Blalock, Elizabeth Chapman, Helen DeRamus, Lorra Kurtz, Karen Laborde, Barbara Nerenz-Kelley, and Jennifer Rivera. Avery Gallery Pets & Wildlife in Art

agmeredithramboAvery Gallery presents “2, 4 & More – Pets & Wildlife in Art” on Friday, April 3 from 5 – 9 pm.  Artists Robert Christie and Meredith Rambo will be attending from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.  Other artist works include Leon Danchin, George Solonevich, Scott MacQuarrie, James Omohundro.  Works including oil on canvas, pastel, sculpture, photographs, prints, and wall hangings will be exhibited. New for 2015 – We will be exhibiting a small collection of works at The Marietta Local, 148 Roswell St., on the Square.  We are thankful to Jim Tidwell for letting us have a booth directly on the Square.  The pieces available there will be Cash Only. The Marietta Local is staying open late and offering a “Walk Around” menu priced under $8

Parking is free in our parking lot next to our building and next door in front of Cobb Hardware, after 6 pm.  There is plenty of parking at the church across Olive Street.

Lumiere Lounge will be Open.  Located at The Strand,  “Lumiere Lounge” (6-10pm) on the second floor at the Strand Theatre Come to the Strand and pay homage to the days of old with a silent film inspired piano bar and lounge! The Lumière Lounge will feature specialty cocktails made with local ‘Hometown Honey’ in addition to a full bar.
