Kennesaw Mayor Mark Matthews, a North Cobb High School graduate, pitched the idea to Dr. Phillip Page, principal of NCHS and Dr. Kevin Daniel, principal of KMHS over the summer. Both were so excited at the idea of bringing the entire community together in a venue that they are fortunate to have in their own backyard.   “The Civil War Classic at KSU is a great opportunity to not only showcase two local football programs but two school communities that call the Kennesaw area home.

The Civil War Classic couldn’t be a reality without the many volunteers and corporate sponsors it takes to make it happen.  In addition to Chick-fil-A’s support since the rivalry began, special thanks go out to Superior Plumbing and LGE Community Credit Union for their support as Gold Level sponsors.  “This is my favorite event of the year. No matter the record, people show up to support the kids and community at this game.  It is always a fun night” says Chick-fil-A of Acworth and Brookstone Operator, Andy Duncan.
