The production is called Auditory Overload and features twenty-eight of the school’s most talented students singing, dancing, and acting to popular music from the 1950’s to now.

The music from each decade’s superstars are featured.  The pop and country icons include:  Elvis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Etta James, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Sonny & Cher, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, Brittany Spears, Lady Gaga, and many, many more!!!

“This is one you do not want to miss” says director and 2012 Cobb county Teacher of the Year, Coy Dunn.  “I have directed for over 20 years and this is the most talented cast I have EVER had the pleasure to work with.”

That’s saying a lot when you review Dunn’s success with multiple region and state titles in one-act play, acting, and speaking competitions.  Furthermore, last year Kennesaw Mountain’s Drama Department was listed in the national magazine, Stage Directions as the “top high school theatre program in the Southeast” and featured as one the “Top Five in America”.

Zach Seabaugh, Shelbea Owen, Summer Finley, Derria Smalls, and Brie Wolfe, along with Ebuna are featured the most in multiple singing and dancing numbers.  “I love the all variety in the show.  It’s been a blast learning about our country’s musical past” stated sophomore Derria Smalls who performs songs from Etta James, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, and Beyoncé.

“I am so impressed with the cast’s talent.  Somebody new blows me away every rehearsal! “added senior stage manager Chelsey Steinmetz.  Dance Captain, junior Dana Mereider, commented, “I love the choreography!!!  Mr. Dunn has bought in great people to teach and help us.”  Choreography for the show has been done by Carolyn Perry, AJ Paug, Bobbie Bruton, and some of the students themselves.

The cast also includes:  Madelyn Buckley, Trey Chastain, Shelby Bice, Patrick Burrell, Jazmine Griffin, Taylor Keller, Emma King, Maddie Smith, Jahnessa Vasquez, Daniel Frisbie, Emily Glass, Laurie Hess, Edgar Patino, Kendra Norwood, Haley Powell, Devin Shoup, Trevor Winnett, Jeremy Peterson, and Noah Turner.
