NOTES FROM DAVE PERRSON co-chair of Kennesaw Grand Prix:

Since it is our only race of the season, it is a combined effort by all six charities and proceeds will support all six equally.  Those organizations remain the same and each will be responsible for staffing a different section of the race.

We have close to 300 runners already registered and this includes close to 100 Swift Kids who have been training all year to actually run a race.

We will be moving the after party to the road (J.O. Stephenson Ave.)  in front of Kennesaw’s City Hall where we will spread out the vendors, refreshments and awards.  Additional portable restrooms will be available as our registration numbers grow.

We will be adding start mats to this race and spreading out the runners at the start for comfort.  We are still limited on the amount of time we can have Main Street closed near the church, so creating heats of runners was not an option.  This is an outdoor event, so masks will not be a requirement and are not recommended by the CDC for physical activities like running. Unless it is raining, we will not be using the inside of the church at the start and will have all race morning activities outside in the parking lot.

Our marketing and runner reminders in October will include a reminder that each runner must bring their own water bottle as we will not be distributing open cups of water in the park or at the finish line. We will have a few big dispensers for refilling if someone needs it.

Hoping for a beautiful fall morning on October 31st and look forward to seeing all of our runners in person one time this season.
