Fighter Food Truck Benefit for Terry – Fantastic Success!

terrydawnThe city of Alpharetta hosted their last Food Truck Alley Night of the year last Thursday, October 24th and was kind enough to open their doors to a fundraiser for one of  food truck’s own.  Many came out to celebrate and honor Terry Hall, owner/operator of Happy Belly Food Truck. Terry is currently battling Stage IV Lung Cancer.  Terry and his wife, Dawn, are pictured here.

The night was packed with fifteen food trucks and dessert trucks – the most ever seen in Alpharetta.  Each truck, that participated, brought a donation of their own,  in addition to hosting donation jars for the public at their individual trucks. The place was rocking with inflatable fun activities for the kids, live entertainment provided by the Thomas Fountain Band (awesome by the way), and lots of hungry folks who came to show their support.

wowftThere are so many to thank for their generosity.  Their participation help make this event a success.  The City of Alpharetta, Wendy Cross of W.O.W. Food Truck, who gathered all the food trucks that participated, the American Lung Association, CanCare, Matt and Katie Matthews from High Stakes Digital, Fun-Fare, Tailgate Altanta, Georgia Southern and all the friends and family that came and volunteered, and the patrons of food truck night.

posterThe night was more than successful.    Several thousand dollars were raised and donated to Terry’s medical expense fund to help with his outstanding medical bills.  While Terry has medical coverage, with a 20% co-pay, the cost of one chemo treatment is about $26,000.00.  This  means the Hall family is responsible for $5,200 for each treatment.  He has had three and has more chemo treatments to come, plus radiation.

The Big Green Egg company donated a grill to be raffled off.  The winner, whose wife is a cancer survivor, generously donated the grill back to Terry to auction off again at a later date to raise more funds for his family.
