FAMILY FUN EVENTS COMING UP

SAT JULY 25 THE SOUTHERN MUSEUM’S Railroad Rendezvous The popular Railroad Rendezvous event will return to the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History on Saturday, July 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.The family-friendly event celebrates railroads and transportation with a full day of activities and demonstrations. Guests can enjoy children’s flatcar rides, a model car display, railroad artifacts presented by the Military Railroad Society and a variety of interactive exhibits.
All other Railroad Rendezvous activities are included with regular museum admission. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children. For more information, visit www.southernmuseum.org or call 770-427-2117.

SAT JULY 25 Acworth’s Big Rig Back-to-School Bash The City of Acworth is excited to bring you a touch-a-truck style event that will combine local businesses and the “Big Rigs” you see on the roads every day! This back-to-school bash will take place at Logan Farm Park on Saturday, July 25. We will have a “silent hour” from 9am – 10am with limited lights, sirens and sounds for our sensitive populations. From 10am – 2pm be ready for all the lights, sirens, horns and more! Food trucks will be present.

THUR JULY 30 COBB COUNTY NATIONAL NIGHT OUT Shake hands with our safety heroes, firefighters, police, and emergency staff at National Night Out, 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Jim R. Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road, Marietta. It’s going to be a night filled with fun, food, and festivities. Bring your family, meet your local public safety personnel, and enjoy a night of unity and positivity. Together, we make our community safer. This year’s free event includes a touch-a-truck area, animal adoptions, reptile encounters, national park rangers, bounce houses, music and performances, food trucks and more surprises. There will also be free backpacks and school tools while supplies last. And stay until the end for this year’s plot twist — fireworks!

FRI JULY 31 GLOVER PARK CONCERT The concert for July 31: Seven Bridges / Eagles Tribute Band. The concert begins at 8:00 p.m. The concert is free to attend. Enjoy free food, games, exciting demonstrations, and activities for all ages. Watch our K-9 team in action, test your skills by flying drones through an obstacle course, check out our patriotic PTV show, enjoy balloon creations from Ty the Twister, enter to win raffle prizes, and meet the officers who proudly serve our community. Help us stock our community food pantry! Bring a canned food donation and receive one free raffle entry as our way of saying thank you for helping local families in need. Join the Kennesaw Police Department for National Night Out at Swift-Cantrell Park! This free, family-friendly event is a great opportunity to connect with your local first responders and enjoy an evening of food, music, community, and fun. Come check out first responder vehicles, meet KPD officers, and spend time with neighbors as we celebrate the strong partnership between public safety and the Kennesaw community. National Night Out will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Swift-Cantrell Park, Admission: Free. We hope to see you there! This a fun and educational event. An excellent way for your youngsters to meet the members of our police department and become acquainted with the services they provide.

FRI August 7 KENNESAW’S FIRST FRIDAY CONCERT:  Come enjoy the G Clef & The Playlist G Clef & The Playlist performs an energetic mix of Motown, pop, rock, R&B and hip-hop favorites. Featuring a group of seasoned musicians, the band is known for strong vocals, tight instrumentation and a versatile setlist that keeps audiences engaged from start to finish.If you wanna dance, they are gon’ make you dance! Set against the backdrop of KENNESAW’S Main Street Plaza, this concert offers a way to unwind, connect and kick off the weekend in the heart of the city. This community favorite is back with even more flavors, performances, traditions, and hands-on experiences celebrating cultures from around the world. Head to Jim R. Miller Park 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, for a feast of flavors, magical music and dance, colorful cultural displays, and activities that will entertain adults and kiddos alike.
