FRI MAR 23 MARIETTA’S EASTER EGG SCRAMBLE

Marietta’s Parks, Recreation and Facilities Easter Egg Scramble will take place on Friday March 23, 2018 at 6:30 PM. The event will be held at Laurel Park, 151 Manning Rd., Marietta, 30064.
The Easter Bunny will be available for photos after the Egg Scramble until 7:30 p.m. Arrive early to find parking and your child’s correct age group. Children will be divided into the following age groups: 3 and Under; 4 – 6; 7 – 10

FRI MAR 23 ACWORTH’S EGG HUNT

The City of Acworth and Freedom Church would like to invite your family to experience an egg hunt like you’ve never seen before! The event will take place on Friday, March 23 at the Acworth Sports Complex, located at 4000 South Main St. The Easter Egg Hunts will be held on the baseball fields and we ask all participants to please park on the baseball side of the complex. We will have gates and concessions opening at 6:30 p.m., and the first hunt begins at 7:30 p.m., so make sure you arrive early.
This year the hunt will consist of 50,000 eggs and the Easter Bunny will be SKYDIVING in for the fun! The Acworth Egg Hunt is broken down into five age groups and the start times will alternate between fields. For more information or to volunteer visit www.acworthegghunt.com.

SAT MARCH 24COBB’S LARGEST EGG HUNT – Cobb County’s largest egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 24, at Al Bishop Softball Complex in Marietta. This family-friendly event is free. Activities will include egg hunts, art activities, live entertainment, inflatables, hula-hoop contest, tug-of-war, musical chairs, food trucks and vendors. There will be four egg hunts by age groups. The schedule of events is as follows:
10-11 a.m. – Park opens (arm-band distribution, games, activities and entertainment). 11 a.m. – ages 3 and under hunt. 11:30 a.m. – ages 4-5 hunt. Noon – ages 6-7 hunt. 12:30 p.m. – ages 8-10 hunt Please bring your own baskets for the hunt. Special needs participants are included in all activities. SAT MAR 24 RIDE TO READ MOTORCYCLE FUNDRAISER –

Brookwood Christian School invites all motorcycle enthusiasts to join them as Brookwood honors National Reading Month by hosting their first charity motorcycle ride with Acworth’s very own Chef Henry Chandler leading the ride!  The event will be held on Saturday, March 24. Proceeds benefit the International Dyslexia Association – Georgia Chapter as well as Brookwood Christian’s Dyslexia Reading Programs. SAT MAR 24 TRUE VISION FUNDRAISER– 2:00 pm till 7:00 pm True Vision Eye Care invites the public to join them at Guston’s Grille, 3330 Cobb Pkway, Acworth on March 24th 2:00 till 7:00 pm to come, support and/or donate to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Let’s help conquer Childhood Cancers.

SUN MAR 25 KING OF KINGS 3:00 pm. The King of Kings is a 1927 American silent epic film produced and directed by Cecil B. DeMille. It depicts the last weeks of Jesus before his crucifixion. Our own Ron Carter will accompany the movie on the organ. The movie begins at 3:00 pm at the Earl and Rachel Smith Theatre (Strand) on the Square in Marietta. Tickets on sale 2 hrs before showtime.

MON MAR 26 MARIETTA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION 11:30 – The March MBA meeting will feature Peach State Politics & Lively Discussion. Open primaries in Georgia are on the horizon. Hear both sides of Peach State Politics with members of The Georgia Gang. TUES MAR 27 COBB COUNTY GENEALOGY SOCIETY MEETING 7:00 pm First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, 189 Church St., Marietta. Topic: Surprises in DNA – Are You Ready? According to presenter for the March meeting Pamela Strother Downs, DNA testing is one of the wonderful tools genealogists have to facilitate family research. But when deciding whether to have one’s own DNA tested or when asking relatives to agree to be tested, it should always be kept in mind that the results may not be what one expects.
