Posted September 28, 2018
On Thursday September 27th, 2018 a citizen called 911 to report possible drug activity in the storage facility located at 1795 Cobb Parkway South.  Canine Apex was brought to the storage facility and alerted on a specific storage unit.  An investigation was initiated by Officers Parker, Nudi and Canine Handler Lukaszewicz.  Marietta Police Crime Interdiction Unit (CIU) undercover officers were stationed in the area and later observed two individuals enter the same locker and remove the contents.  Officers stopped the suspect vehicle as it was leaving the facility and arrested forty-year-old Chuck Raiford and forty-five-year-old Telisha Passmore, both from Columbus, Georgia.  Thirty (30) individual one-pound packages of marijuana with a street value of approximately $100,000 were seized along with $1660 in US currency.  Due to the quantity of marijuana in their possession, both individuals were booked into the Cobb Adult Detention Center, charged with VGCSA Felony Trafficking Marijuana.

The Marietta Police Department would like to thank the citizen who called to report the suspicious activity.  In this case, two individuals were attempting to bring Schedule #1 drugs into our city.  These arrests serve as an excellent reminder that when we work together to keep our community safe, we can accomplish great results.  If you SEE something, SAY something – Call 911.
