THURS SEPT 20 SUPERIOR PLUMBING NGSF PAGEANT. The opening night of the 86th annual North Georgia State Fair will feature the annual pageant for young ladies ages 3 years through 24 years at the Jim R Miller Park in Marietta, Sept. 20. THURS-SUN SEPT 20-SEPT 30 SUPERIOR PLUMBING NORTH GEORGIA STATE FAIR. featuring live music, free attractions and shows, farm animals, flower shows, blue ribbon competitions, local entertainment, and delicious fair foods. There are also games and rides on the Great James H. Drew Exposition midway – one of the largest carnival midways in the United States, featuring the Wildcat Rollercoaster, Georgia Mountain Lift and the Mega Slide. FRI, SEPT 21 BENEFIT FOR SHEPHARD’S MEN SHARE Military Initiative At RobertKent Galleries 85 Church Street. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Licensed Harley-Davidson Artist David Uhl has painted an original oil inspired by photo taken by Katy Ruth Camp on the Shepherd’s Men recent run from Chicago to AtlantaThis piece will be unveiled that evening and the bidding will begin as all proceeds with benefit the SHARE Initiative. RobertKent Galleries will also be auctioning off that night a giclee of another piece by David of Tommy Glavine and his son at the stadium looking at the Warren Spahn statute signed by both David and Tommy Glavine.  All proceeds to the Shepherd’s Men. David’s exhibit at the Marietta Cobb Museum will open on September 22 with an after party at the gallery at 8 p.m.

SAT SEPT 22 – ACWOOF’S & WAVES The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department, Holbrook Acworth, and Lake City Animal Hospital are excited to host our first ever doggie beach day at Dallas Landing Park on Saturday, September 22!  The event will consist of two time slots for dogs of all sizes.  Small/Medium breeds will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and Medium/Large breeds will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  This event is open to all non-aggressive dogs who are spayed/neutered and current on their shots.  Veterinary records will be required. Registration for this event is open for City of Acworth residents and opens August 8 for non-residents.  Cost will be $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.  For more information and to register please visit

SEPT 21-23 – GEORGIA BALLET presents THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre. SAT SEPT 22 – MUSEUM DAY – FREE admission to Southern Museum. MON SEPT 24 MARIETTA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION MEETING.The September program is Small Business Hall of Fame: How We Made it in the Community. The panel will be moderated by John Loud, Loud Security and the panel includes the co-CEO’S of Elf on the Shelf, Jay Cunningham, Superior Plumbing, Andy Crowe of Velociteach. Buffet opens at 11:30 am. The September MBA luncheon meeting will be held on September 24 at Roswell Street Baptist Church.

FRI SEPT 28 – GLOVER PARK CONCERT 8:00 pm. On Friday, September 28, The Marietta community and surrounding areas will again be “dancing in the street” during the Glover Park Concert Series presented by LGE Community Credit Union. This is the last concert of the season. The concerts are free Dont miss the September 28 concert by-The Mustangs-playing Rock and Roll. Bring your dancing shoes. SAT OCT 6 GREAT LAKE ALLATOONA CLEAN UP- This event is part of the Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up. To participate in this event, please register at: oin us on Saturday, October 6 for the Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up! Volunteers come out each year and help remove litter and debris from the shores of the lake. The event is sponsored by the Acworth Parks and Recreation Department, the Acworth Lake Authority, Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up Committee, and the Lake Allatoona Association. This is a great project for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, community groups and anyone who wants to help keep our lakes clean.

SAT OCT 13 TASTE OF ACWORTH Now is the time to mark Saturday, October 13th 2018 on your calendar for Acworth’s biggest event of the year: ABA’s Taste of Acworth with Superior Plumbing. In addition to the great food, there will be two stages providing live entertainment throughout the day including the fun fashion show at noon and dog show at 3pm. The event also includes a kid zone featuring inflatables, a quad bungee, and challenging games. Taste of Acworth benefits local schools and charities and features 150 area restaurants and businesses.


FRIDAYS ACWORTH FARMER’S MARKET The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market is open for this season  and will continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 26. The market is located in Historic Downtown Acworth in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street. The Acworth Farmer’s Market is sponsored by the Acworth Downtown Development Authority. “Lumiere Lounge” (6-10pm) on the second floor at the Strand Theatre Come to the Strand and pay homage to the days of old with a silent film inspired piano bar and lounge! As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge will feature specialty cocktails made with local ‘Hometown Honey’ in addition to a full bar. Lumière is held on the second floor lounge on select Friday and Saturday nights from 6-10pm. GHOSTS OF MARIETTA WALKING TOUR (7:30pm) Walk the streets of our haunted city by lantern light, guided by one of our talented storytellers. This tour is approximately 90 minutes and the walk is under a mile. Ghost tours are at 7:30pm every Thur, Fri & Sat. Paid reservations required in advance. 770-425-1006.

SATURDAYS  MARIETTA SQUARE ARTISAN MARKET is on Second and Fourth Saturdays.  April through November. The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an open-air showcase of locally-created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. It is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm from April to November.
