FRI, SEPT 21 BENEFIT FOR SHEPHARD’S MEN SHARE Military Initiative At RobertKent Galleries 85 Church Street. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Licensed Harley-Davidson Artist David Uhl has painted an original oil inspired by photo taken by Katy Ruth Camp on the Shepherd’s Men recent run from Chicago to AtlantaThis piece will be unveiled that evening and the bidding will begin as all proceeds with benefit the SHARE Initiative. RobertKent Galleries will also be auctioning off that night a giclee of another piece by David of Tommy Glavine and his son at the stadium looking at the Warren Spahn statute signed by both David and Tommy Glavine. All proceeds to the Shepherd’s Men. David’s exhibit at the Marietta Cobb Museum will open on September 22 with an after party at the gallery at 8 p.m.
SAT SEPT 22 – ACWOOF’S & WAVES The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department, Holbrook Acworth, and Lake City Animal Hospital are excited to host our first ever doggie beach day at Dallas Landing Park on Saturday, September 22! The event will consist of two time slots for dogs of all sizes. Small/Medium breeds will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and Medium/Large breeds will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. This event is open to all non-aggressive dogs who are spayed/neutered and current on their shots. Veterinary records will be required. Registration for this event is open for City of Acworth residents and opens August 8 for non-residents. Cost will be $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Volunteers come out each year and help remove litter and debris from the shores of the lake. The event is sponsored by the Acworth Parks and Recreation Department, the Acworth Lake Authority, Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up Committee, and the Lake Allatoona Association. This is a great project for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, community groups and anyone who wants to help keep our lakes clean.
SAT OCT 13 TASTE OF ACWORTH Now is the time to mark Saturday, October 13th 2018 on your calendar for Acworth’s biggest event of the year: ABA’s Taste of Acworth with Superior Plumbing. In addition to the great food, there will be two stages providing live entertainment throughout the day including the fun fashion show at noon and dog show at 3pm. The event also includes a kid zone featuring inflatables, a quad bungee, and challenging games. Taste of Acworth benefits local schools and charities and features 150 area restaurants and businesses.
