SAT JULY 13 SPORTS FANATIC 5K The Sports Fanatic 5K will be held on Saturday July 13, 2019 in downtown Kennesaw. This race benefits the Dave Krache Foundation which helps kids in need play sports by helping with their league fees. One mile starts at 7:30 am, 5K Starts at 8:00 am. SAT JULY 13 CHRISTMAS IN JULY – on the Square, Marietta 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Surrounded by festive evergreen trees and pink flamingos, families will enjoy an unseasonably warm Winter Wonderland experience on the Marietta Square. The free event is presented by The Branding Project and benefits the Center for Family Resources (CFR) and Cobb Christmas, nonprofits that serve local low-income families. Everyone in Glover Park will enjoy the beach vibe of summer tunes by the Strand Ole Opry. SAT JULY 13 METRO MONTAGE XIX Opening Night Reception from 6-8 pm.Metro Montage is the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art’s annual juried exhibition featuring all types of genre, medium, style, subject matter, concept, and technique in art. Admission to the opening is $10 and free for members. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. SAT JULY 20 SOUTHERN MUSEUM presents RAILROAD RENDEZVOUS in partnership with KUS School of Art and Design. Learn about the science and skill behind the casting process by preparing your own unique scratch block design and watching it come to life through a live iron pour with a functioning furnace. Indoors, you can enjoy train layouts, including the Atlantic Coast S-Gaugers’ 30’x30’ layout and the North Georgia Tinplate Trackers’ popular O-gauge layout, along with other railroad-themed fun. Museum event admission is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for seniors (over 60), $5.00 for military and university students, $5.00 for children ages 3-17, and free for children 2 and under. Admission for Museum members is also free. There is an additional fee of $5 to board the General Locomotive (including members) and $10 for an iron pour scratch block.

MON JULY 22 NCHS FOOTBALL GOLF TOURNAMENT Coach Shane Queen and the North Cobb Warrior Football Program will be hosting our 9th annual Fred Key Memorial golf tournament this July 22, 2019 at Pinetree Country Club. MONDAYS May 6 – August 26 KENNESAW FARMER’S MARKET AND DINNER AT THE DEPOT. The Farmer’s Market & Dinner at the Depot  until AUGUST 26th with no events on Memorial Day, the week of July 4th. Hours for FM are 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Dinner at the Depot will start at 5:30 pm and go until 8:30 pm. FRIDAYS ACWORTH FARMERS MARKET – NEW LOCATION – The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market will begin this season on Friday, April 5 and continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 25. The market is moving to the Logan Farm Park Expansion Parking lot (4405 Cherokee Street). The Acworth Farmer’s Market is proudly sponsored by the Acworth Downtown Development Authority. MUSEUM MOMMY & ME CLASSES. Join us each Thursday from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm for Mommy & Me! Our program is specifically designed for children aged 3-5 and their caregivers. Discover and explore the world around us through play! Create, experiment, investigate, and learn together. Each week has a different theme, and lots of fun new activities to play with. Cost is included in museum admission and free for museum members.

“Lumiere Lounge” (6-10pm) on the second floor at the Strand Theatre Come to the Strand and pay homage to the days of old with a silent film inspired piano bar and lounge! As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge will feature specialty cocktails made with local ‘Hometown Honey’ in addition to a full bar. Lumière is held on the second floor lounge on select Friday and Saturday nights from 6-10pm.
