JULY – Horizon League: Fall Baseball – Registration begins July 2nd for the Fall Horizon Baseball League. The Horizon League is a non-competitive baseball league for athletes ages 5 years and older with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Games will be played on the Horizon Field (4000 South Main Street, Acworth 30101). The cost of the league is $15 per player. JULY – THE BUTTERFLY HOUSE at SMITH GILBERT GARDENS is open. The exhibit features a butterfly house where visitors can observe native species including Monarchs, Black Swallowtails, Gulf Fritillaries, Tiger Swallowtails and many more, in all stages of life. Guests will also be inspired by the Southern Living® Pollinator Garden, featuring a variety of butterfly and bee-friendly plants that are suitable for home landscaping. SAT JULY 21 RAILROAD RENDEZVOUS AND IRON POUR – The Southern Museum, in partnership with Kennesaw State University School of Art and Design, will host an iron pour as part of the museum’s annual summer Railroad Rendezvous event. This popular, family-friendly event celebrates the joy of trains with a particular focus this year on the science, art, and creation of railroads and engines. Sparks will fly on the front yard as visitors watch a fully functioning furnace in action. There will be something for everyone to enjoy. The event is on Saturday, July 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Southern Museum is located at 2829 Cherokee Street in downtown Kennesaw (exit 273 on Interstate 75). SAT JULY 21 Pop-In at the Marietta Museum of History: Summer Crafts – 10:30am-3:30pm Beat the heat with a fun day at the Museum. July’s Pop-In theme will be “Summer Crafts”- a perfect way to wrap up the last couple weeks of summer. Summer themed crafts will be set up throughout the Museum to provide children and their families a new way to interact with the Museum.

FRI JULY 27 KBA BACK TO SCHOOL BASH honoring our teachers at Kennesaw Elementary and Big Shanty Intermediate Schools. This year’s luncheon will be held on Friday, July 27th at Big Shanty Elementary located at 1575 Ben King Road.  There will be about 180 teachers in attendance.  We will also host (2) more luncheons (200 teachers) at Pine Mountain and Palmer (dates TBD).  We really could use your help in many ways including donating:  cash, gift cards, or a door prize. FRI JULY 27 GLOVER PARK CONCERT 8:00 PM featuring Carolina Beach Music by GRAINS OF SAND. The concerts are free of charge but if you’re looking for a “front-row seat,” a limited number of tables can be reserved — $45 for tables of six and $55 for tables for eight. Tables reservations are taken on a first come basis and may be reserved the first working day of each month. Blankets and lawn chairs May be set up in park anytime. FRI/SAT AUG 24, 25 PIGS N PEACHES – ADAMS PARK, KENNESAW. Festival fans and music lovers will converge in Kennesaw for two days of barbeque bliss at the City of Kennesaw’s Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival on Friday, August 24, 6 – 10 pm and Saturday, August 25, 10 am – 10 pm at Adams Park. The event will be held rain or shine. Admission is free. While public tasting is not offered as part of the BBQ competition, there will be dozens of vendors (including several cook teams) who will be selling barbeque and other food and beverages, including beer. MONDAYS KENNESAW FARMER’S MARKET 3:30-7:30 PM. The Farmer’s market will offer a variety of fresh vegetables & fruits, baked goods, prepared goods, jams & jellies, locally produced honey and more! The market will be in the circle this season with the food trucks. Some vendors require cash but many take debit/credit cards. Hours for FM are 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. At the depot in downtown Kennesaw.

MONDAYS DINNER AT THE DEPOT 5:30-8:30 A variety of food trucks will rotate throughout the season. Food trucks take cash, credit and debit cards.There will be live music each week and different types of entertainment throughout the season. There are tables and chairs for guests on site or they are welcome to bring their own chairs and picnic blankets. At the depot in downtown Kennesaw.

TUESDAYS COBB COUNTY FARM BUREAU FARMERS MARKET Lost Mountain Park. We’ll be there every Tuesday from now thru September from 3 – 7 PM. The goal for Cobb County Farm Bureau Farmers Market is to promote agriculture and give consumers an opportunity to connect with local farmers and businesses. FRIDAYS ACWORTH FARMER’S MARKET The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market is open for this season  and will continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 26. The market is located in Historic Downtown Acworth in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street. The Acworth Farmer’s Market is sponsored by the Acworth Downtown Development Authority. TUESDAYS: Acworth Library Storytime in the Park 10:30. Join us every Tuesday morning, for outdoor storytime in beautiful Frana Brown Park located in downtown Acworth, right across from the Post Office.  Bring a towel or blanket to sit on and some snacks! All ages are welcome! Frana Brown Park is located at 4901 North Main Street, Acworth, GA 30101. No registration required. We will meet at the park at 10:30 am. In the event of rain, we will meet in the library.

WED & SAT SOUTHERN MUSEUM BRAIN TRAIN The Southern Museum Education Program presents BRAIN TRAIN – a summer S.T.E.A.M. Workshop for families with kids ages 5-12. They are held on the second Wednesday and following Saturday during June, July and August. Program is FREE for members or with museum admission for nonmembers. Drop in anytime. THURSDAYS: SOUTHERN MUSEUM MOMMY & ME CLASSES. Join us each Thursday from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm for Mommy & Me! Our program is specifically designed for children aged 3-5 and their caregivers. Discover and explore the world around us through play! Create, experiment, investigate, and learn together. Each week has a different theme, and lots of fun new activities to play with. Cost is included in museum admission and free for museum members.

“Lumiere Lounge” (6-10pm) on the second floor at the Strand Theatre Come to the Strand and pay homage to the days of old with a silent film inspired piano bar and lounge! As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge will feature specialty cocktails made with local ‘Hometown Honey’ in addition to a full bar. Lumière is held on the second floor lounge on select Friday and Saturday nights from 6-10pm. GHOSTS OF MARIETTA WALKING TOUR (7:30pm) Walk the streets of our haunted city by lantern light, guided by one of our talented storytellers. SATURDAYS  MARIETTA SQUARE ARTISAN MARKET is on Second and Fourth Saturdays.  April through November. The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an open-air showcase of locally-created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. It is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm from April to November.
