NOW-SAT AUG 1 – GARDEN WITH WINGS BUTTERFLY HOUSE. Populated by over 700 native butterflies. The newly expanded butterfly house offers an up-close experience with butterflies, plus the opportunity to see all stages of their life cycle. SAT JULY 11 ACWORTH ARTS ALLIANCE – CELEBRATE ACWORTH 4-7 pm Tents will be set up behind the Art House fo socializing and refreshments. Dress comfortably. We encourage a mask while inside the Art House. This event is free and open to the public. The Art House is located on Cherokee St at the corner of Logan Farm House.
SAT JULY 11 Marietta/Cobb Art Museum METRO MONTAGE XX Opening Day. We invite the public to stop in to view Metro Montage XX. We will remain open until 8:00 pm on the 11th. State guidelines prohibit us from serving food and drink, but there are many wonderful spots that are serving that are near MCMA. In the Museum, face coverings are highly recommended but not required and we will be limiting capacity as needed.

AUG 27 – COBB COUNTY SCHOOLS Set to open for the 2020-21 school year. During the June BOE meeting, the Superintendent announced that the District would be asking parents to choose between a “Face-to-Face” or “Full Remote” learning model for the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year.
In anticipation of Thursday, July 2’s special-called Board of Education meeting, the District decided to postpone the window for parents to select a model for the upcoming school year. Students and parents will be notified of an updated timeline to make their decision, with details concerning the 2020-2021 school year, as soon as it becomes available.

MON KENNESAW FARMER’S MARKET – the season for Kennesaw Market Mondays opened MONDAY JUNE 1st! The market takes place in the City Parking lot 2785 Watts Drive (. Here are some changes for this season: We will have a limited number of tables and chairs where people can sit (approximately half the number of tables/chairs from prior years). We will COULD have musical entertainment. We will have 3 food trucks and 1 dessert truck. Farmers/Makers booths will be spaced out with a ‘empty’ space between each vendor We are requesting the public that visits Kennesaw Market Mondays to practice social distancing guidelines as outlined by the CDC and State of GA.
FRI ACWORTH FARMER’S MARKET – Acworth Farmers Market – Shop for local at the Acworth Farmers Market every Friday morning from June 5-October 30 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The market takes place at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street). Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh baked bread, pies, cakes, honey and jams to choose from each week.
The following guidelines will be followed: Volunteers from the city will be on hand to help. Vendors will wear masks and masks are also suggested for our customers. We request one shopper per family, no pets or small children recommended. Please practice social distancing. There will be no hand to hand contact. Tables will be two deep at each vendor booth. SAT MARIETTA FARMER’S MARKET. Year round on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Takes up residence on 41 MILL STREET between Powder Springs and the Square.. Market customers have a variety of produce to choose from including heirloom tomatoes, fruits and vegetables that are rarely, available from the grocery store.
