FRI APR 5- FRI OCT 25 ACWORTH FARMERS MARKET – NEW LOCATION – The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market will begin this season on Friday, April 5 and continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 25. The market is moving to the Logan Farm Park Expansion Parking lot (4405 Cherokee Street). The Acworth Farmer’s Market is proudly sponsored by the Acworth Downtown Development Authority. THURS APR 11, -SUNDAY APRIL 21 – EARL SMITH STRAND presents Dark Matters , a new interactive inter-dimensional murder mystery that uses the entirety of The Strand’s historic building to immerse the audience in a thrilling criminal investigation This interactive theatrical event challenges the audience to investigate the true story behind a nefarious crime and identify the criminal with the motive to commit it. SAT APR 20 KENNESAW’S BUNNY BREAKFAST – Tickets are now on sale for an “all-you-care-to-eat” Bunny Breakfast on April 20 at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive in Kennesaw. The menu will consist of hot and ready pancakes served with bacon and sausage; as well as a medley of fresh fruit and delicious breakfast sweets. The Easter Bunny will make his way from table to table to say hello to all the boys and girls. Participants should bring their cameras. Seatings are available at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Tickets are $6 per person and can be purchased online at kennesaw-ga.gov/parks-andrecreation or at the Ben Robertson Community Center. Advance purchase is required. Tickets are non-refundable after April 5. Children 2 years of age and younger do not need a ticket. However, they must sit on an adult’s lap. SAT APR 20 BREAKFAST WITH THE EASTER BUNNY The City of Marietta’s Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce it will host a special Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 10am – 12pm at the Custer Park Sports and Fitness Center located at 545 Kenneth E. Marcus Way, Marietta, GA 30060. The event is $8 for City residents, $5 for fit-pass holders, and $10 for non-City residents. Breakfast treats will be served while children have the opportunity to create Easter crafts and meet the Easter Bunny.Space is limited so hurry up and register for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. SAT APR 20 NORTHEAST COBB COMMUNITY EGG DROP 10-5 Sprayberry High School football field. More than 90,000 eggs and candy will be given out at the various hunts. The funds raised from the Egg Drop go to support both the Shop with a Yellow Jacket and the Shop with a Longhorn programs for Sprayberry and Kell High Schools.  Hosted by Piedmont Church and the Cobb County School District. MON APR 22 GOLF TOURNAMENT – Kennesaw Cemetery Foundation. The Kennesaw CemeteryFoundation is hosting a Golf Tournament on Monday April 22 at Dogwood Golf Club, 4207 Flint Hill Rd., Austell. FRI APR 26 Spring Sip n’ Stroll Marietta Tree Keepers invites you to attend our Spring Sip n’ Stroll on April 26, 2019 beginning at 5:30 pm. The event features a special casual tour with tree experts, identifying common opportunities and issues relating to trees. It’s free and open to the public. For this Sip n’ Stroll, we will stroll around Ivy Grove Plantation – no tour of the inside home will be allowed. All visitors are welcome to bring BYOB and MTK will provide water and light snacks. The event will only be cancelled if it is raining heavy or lightning. Location is Ivy Grove Plantation at 473 Cherokee St., Marietta, GA 30060. FRI APR 26 GLOVER PARK CONCERT SERIES. The Marietta community will again be “dancing in the street” during the Glover Park Concert Series. The series features local and regional acts on the last Friday night, April through September. Come listen to the Pop and Rock music of KRP Band. Blankets and lawn chairs may be set up in the park. Personal tables and plastic ground coverings are not permitted in the park, however they may be set up on the street after 5:30 p.m. Bring a picnic dinner (beer & wine is permitted) or dine in one of the many fine restaurants located on the square.  All concerts begin at 8:00 (rain or shine) and are held in Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square Free on street parking, City Hall parking deck, 205 Lawrence St and the Care Here of Marietta parking lot, 268 Lawrence St. Concerts are free. SAT APR 27 THEY WILL SKATE AGAIN hosted by Life Rolls On, an Epic Surf and Akate organization for wheelchair athletes. We are inviting hundreds of volunteers, people of all ages with disabilities, and entire families come together for an epic day at the Kennesaw Skate Park, in Swift Cantrell Park, Kennesaw on Saturday April 27.  SCHEDULE: 9:00 am Check In Desk Opens; 10:00 am Welcome Speech; 10:30 til 2:00 Adaptive Skate Clinic. Lunch is on us!  We serve light breakfast snacks, an awesome lunch, and water throughout the day for registered athletes and volunteers. Many thanks for the help of the Kennesaw/Acworth Optimists and Kennesaw Parks and Recreation. Bring a helmet, knee and elbow pads, and of course, your fastest wheels. Very special thanks for triple eight offering to bring some helmets and knee and elbow pads for athletes who don’t have their own equipment, but want to participate! SAT APRIL 27 10 WOMEN OF HOPE BRUNCH – Please join us on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 10AM until 12PM, for an uplifting morning of fun, fellowship, food and entertainment with vendors and surprises, all in support of our vision~ To impact a family’s life by providing financial support during a critical period that results in a positive outcome. The Brunch location is at Zion Baptist Church~165 Lemon Street, NE, Marietta 30064 and tickets are $25, available at the door or through any of the 10 Women of Hope members.

TUES APRIL 30 SUMMER CAMP EXPO – hosted by Kennesaw Parks and Rec from 5:30 – 7:30 at the Ben Robertson Community Center. Over two dozen unique programs will be represented in activities ranging from dance, gymnastics and soccer to LEGO® engineering, cooking and fine arts. The snow slide will be in the community center parking lot. Light snacks and refreshments will be served inside. A discount will be offered for registration accepted on-site during the event. Registration for all summer camps, classes and workshops opens April 5 for Kennesaw city residents, and April 19 for non-residents. THURS MAY 2 BIG SHANTY INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL – 50th Anniversary. SAT MAY 4 ACWORTH DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL – Held at Dallas Landing Park the event takes place from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. Dragon boats are 40 foot long boats with the head and tail of a dragon on each end, filled with 20 paddlers, a drummer, and steer person competing in a high energy race on the water. You can get involved multiple ways including being a sponsor, forming a team, or by simply coming out to Dallas Landing to support the teams as they race. SAT MAY 4 DECORATION DAY AT KENNESAW CITY CEMETERY Join Kennesaw’s Cemetery Preservation Commission as we celebrate DECORATION DAY on Saturday, May 4 from 10am to 2pm at the Kennesaw City Cemetery in downtown Kennesaw. The time will be dedicated to beautifying Kennesaw’s Historic Cemetery.  Cleaning supplies will be provided, courtesy of the City of Kennesaw. Free hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and music. All are welcomed to come and participate! (In the event of rain the event will be held May 11)

SAT MAY 4 ARTSTATION AND THE MAKER STATION POP CULTURE ART SHOW. Come celebrate this new partnership with a pop culture themed art show and STEAM event from 1-5 on May 4th at the Art Station-Big Shanty. The show will highlight geek and popular themed art by local artists, hands on activities by The Maker Station, STEAM projects from the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History, and robots from Mt. TUES MAY 7 AND MAY 14 COMMUNITY FORUM hosted by Kennesaw Art and Culture Commission PUBLIC Art Master Plan. Local business owners, residents and art enthusiasts are invited to learn more about the plan’s key findings and recommendations at two community forums being held at the Ben Robertson Community Center at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7th and Tuesday, May 14th. There will be opportunities at the community forums for the public to provide input on creative placemaking priorities.
