SAT AUG 11 MILES4MEIER 5K is a 5K race being held on Saturday, August 11 at 9 am at Kennesaw Mountain High School, in memory of Blake Meier. The purpose of this race is to bring awareness to our community about the Opioid epidemic. Proceeds from this race will go to local organizations helping those affected by this disease. SAT AUG 11 KENNESAW HISTORICAL SOCIETY 2:00 pm August’s speaker is Dustin Klein, archivist at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History. Klein will present “Cotton States & International Exposition” and will tell stories about this 1895 event that attracted nearly 800,000 to Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. The event is at the Southern Museum and open to the public and is free.

Art displayed will include paintings, photography, pottery, graphic arts, sculptures, jewelry, and woodworking from 175 of the country’s finest artists. The event will consist of two time slots for dogs of all sizes. Small/Medium breeds will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and Medium/Large breeds will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. This event is open to all non-aggressive dogs who are spayed/neutered and current on their shots.
