Acworth Farmers Market

Acworth Farmers Market – The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market is open every Friday morning and will continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 26. The market is located in Historic Downtown Acworth in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street. Pictured above Dorothy and Al Jorgenson, local nursery selling herbs, flowers, and vegetable for your garden. The Acworth Farmer’s Market is proudly sponsored by the Acworth Downtown Development Authority. Acworth Library – Storytime in the Park

Join us every Tuesday morning, beginning June 5, for outdoor storytime in beautiful Frana Brown Park located in downtown Acworth, right across from the Post Office.  Bring a towel or blanket to sit on and some snacks! All ages are welcome! Frana Brown Park is located at 4901 North Main Street, Acworth, GA 30101. No registration required. We will meet at the park at 10:30 am. In the event of rain, we will meet in the library.

ACWORTH ARTS ALLIANCE EVENTS

“Summer Splash,” is the exhibit at the Art House in Acworth,  will be on display through July 28, according to the Acworth Arts Alliance. An Open House is planned for Saturday, July 7 from 6-9 p.m.

“Transitions,” the next exhibit which is scheduled for Aug. 4-Sept. 9, will accept artist’s submissions up to July 15. All area artists are invited to submit their work for consideration by the July 15 deadline for this exhibit. The Acworth Arts Alliance’s Art House (501c3, Non-Profit) at 4425 Cherokee Street in Acworth, offers art exhibits and classes, workshops and camps to the greater NW Atlanta area. There is no charge to visit the Art House. Classes, workshops and camp information can be obtained on their website at: acworthartsalliance.org. Their hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 12-6. Acworth Football and Cheerleading

The Acworth Football and Cheerleading Association provides competitive and instructional football and cheerleading opportunities for children between the ages of five and twelve. Teams are grouped according to age and weight. Football players are placed on teams with other children of similar skill and experience. Practice begins the last week in July and ends in early to middle November. Once the season starts practice will be held three nights a week with a game on Saturday.

Horizon League: Fall Baseball –

Registration begins July 1st for the Fall Horizon Baseball League. The Horizon League is a non-competitive baseball league for athletes ages 5 years and older with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Games will be played on the Horizon Field (4000 South Main Street, Acworth 30101). The cost of the league is $15 per player. Games begin on Thursday, September 6 and continue through Saturday, October 20. There will be no games during the week of Cobb County Fall Break. Summer Sports Camp Series –

The summer is full of opportunities for your child to brush up on the fundamentals of several sports. This summer the department will be hosting a speed and agility camp and a kid’s football camp. Both camps are extremely affordable. Every camper will also receive a camp t-shirt and water bottle! Speed & Agility Camp will be held on July 9 – 13 and Football Camp will be held on July 17 – 19.
