Our cities in Cobb County make sure we don’t have to travel far to enjoy a parade, arts and crafts, music and entertainment and of course the grand finale FIREWORKS. Included here are Acworth’s, Kennesaw’s Marietta’s and Powder Spring’s activities for July 3 and July 4. We wish you a safe celebration and enjoy the holiday.
Kennesaw’s July 3 Celebration Features Tributes, Fireworks
The “Night Fever” of the 1970s disco era meets the “British Rock Invasion” of the 1960s when Stayin’ Alive and Satisfaction take the stage on Thursday, July at the City of Kennesaw’s Salute to America, a pre-Independence Day celebration of freedom, music and fireworks. The free event is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. in downtown Kennesaw.
Stayin’ Alive is the ultimate Bee Gees tribute — from their distinctive high falsetto voices to their flash and glitter, platform shoes and polyester threads. Satisfaction is internationally acclaimed as the most authentic cast and production show available honoring the World’s Greastest Rock & Roll Band, The Rolling Stones.. Their high-octane show delivers every pout, preen and classic riff fans expect.
The concerts begin at 6 pm and will be followed by a Star-Spangled Fireworks spectacular at 9:30 pm. Note: the event may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather conditions.
The concert stage will be located in front of the Kennesaw Depot, 2828 Cherokee Street. Premium seating is available. A table with six chairs can be reserved for only $75. With the exception of reserved tables, all seating will be general admission. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chair. Caution tape, ground tarps and lawn blankets may not be used to designate seating areas prior to 5 p.m. As a courtesy to others, shade umbrellas, canopies or any obstruction limiting the views of spectators will not be permitted in the general event area.
Additional attractions, inflatables, food and business vendors will be located on Main Street; along with Radio Disney AM 590, who will be providing interactive family entertainment, prizes and giveaways..

Let Freedom Ring! ~ Acworth’s July 4th Concert and Fireworks
The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta. With support from our sponsors C and S paving and the Northwest YMCA, we will have one of the most spectacular displays in Georgia.
Celebrate the 4th of July, on Friday with live music and fireworks at Cauble Park. Live music starts at 4:00 p.m. The Paul Hand Band will take the stage at 5:00 p.m. leading up to headliners “FLASHBACK” at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.(sponsored by C and S Paving).
For more than fifteen years, Flashback, the Party Band, has been instrumental in creating truly memorable celebrations throughout the Southeast. And has been a long time crowd pleaser at Acworth’s Fourth of July celebration. Flashback takes you through decades of classics; from the best of Motown, Beach, and Disco, then all the way into Current Top Hits. Guests experience an interactive and energetic performance while dancing to song after song!
This Party Band showcases phenomenal musicians, clever choreography, breathtaking vocals, and carefully chosen medleys of all your favorite songs. Flashback exceeds your every expectation and ensures that your guests have the time of their lives. Each of the seasoned musicians in Flashback bring years of experience and unimaginable talent to the stage.
The core band consists of Lead Vocalist, Horn Player, and Keyboardist, Dwane Abney, Lead Vocalists Jessica Moore and Reggie Brown, Guitarist and Vocalist, Chris Greene, High-Energy Drummer, Mike Graci, and Vocalist Monty Johnston, who also plays the Keyboards and a variety of Horns.
Admission to the concert is free; however tables are available for the July 4 concert. Tables are $50 each for City of Acworth residents and $70 for non-residents. With the table you get 6 chairs and one parking pass. This parking pass will allow you to park at Cauble Park as long as spots remain available. Parking at Cauble Park is by pass only on July 4 but you are not guaranteed a parking spot at Cauble Park with this pass so please plan on arriving early. There will be food vendors onsite selling a variety of options.
If you do not have a parking pass or if the parking if full, you will need to park downtown and either walk or take a shuttle down to the park. The shuttle service is free. If you choose to park downtown, shuttles will pick you up at the city hall parking lot and the post office parking lot. Shuttles will begin running at noon.

MARIETTA’S FOURTH OF JULY
Grab your American flag, put on your red, white and blue, and celebrate America’s independence July 4, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. with an Independence Day parade and celebration on the Square, free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and Superior Plumbing fireworks finale. Throughout the day, more than 80,000 people are expected to celebrate on the Square with great food, fun activities, the best arts and crafts around and free entertainment from different local entertainers and even Universal Republic Nashville Records country star- Greg Bates presented by 94.9 The Bull.
Parade
The Marietta Independence Day parade is scheduled to include more than 115 entries with more than 40 floats and approximately 2,000 participants. Entries include marching units from the city of Marietta, Air National Guard Band of the South, civic organizations, beauty queens, scouts and local businesses. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church and travels west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway.
Crafts, Food, Carnival Concert and Fireworks
Arts and crafts show with nearly 100 unique handcrafted vendors: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Food concessions: Anything to please the palate from ice products to cool you down to corndogs and BBQ to satisfy your appetite. 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Kid’s Zone – huge interactive kids play area: 10 a.m.-dark; tickets for games available at booths located throughout the park

Fireworks
The Fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be shot from the First United Methodist Church parking lot. If you want to watch the DMDA fireworks, make sure you get there early to grab a spot because traffic is expected to be heavy.
The Fourth all Weekend at The Strand!
One of America’s greatest pastimes is grabbing a warm, buttery popcorn, a Co-Cola and grabbing a show. This Fourth of July weekend, you have an opportunity to celebrate your independence at the historic Earl Smith Strand Theatre, whether you prefer the high energy of a live show, a patriotic parade, or watching a striking fireworks show unfold.
Bird’s Eye Parade View: Patriotic Parade and Mimosas
On the morning of July 4, parade-watchers can perch on The Strand’s rooftop, enjoying a Bird’s Eye Parade View of the floats, marching bands, beauty queens, and military outfits featured in this year’s Freedom Parade by City of Marietta. A cash bar will include Bloody Marys, Mimosas, Screwdrivers, and other morning beverages. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the parade starts at 10 a.m. Only 100 people will enjoy The Strand’s lofty view and admission is $10. It is recommended that guests purchase tickets in advance as the event has sold out in the past.
Fireworks on Fourth: The Sky’s the Limit at the Strand
The Strand’s festive terrace is a spectacular venue to see the sky light up on July 4. Guests enjoy watching Marietta’s dazzling fireworks from the fourth level Cobb Terrace with a cocktail in hand. The view of thousands of people in the square’s streets is pretty unbelievable too. The fireworks will light the sky after dark, estimated to be between 9 and 9:30 p.m. and The Strand’s doors and bar will open at 6 p.m. Cobb Life Magazine recently named the terrace the “Best Place to See & Be Seen.” Admission is $15 and will be limited to 120 people.
POWDER SPRINGS ~JULY 4TH
The Powder Springs Independence Day Celebration will feature more than 10 food booths, an entertainment stage, and a variety of children’s activities.
Bring your chairs and blankets, relax, eat mouth-watering delights while enjoying entertainment on the big stage, let the kids play on a variety of interactive inflatable activities, then get ready for a tremendous patriotic program delivered by Mayor Pat Vaughn and finally end with a phenomenal fireworks show! Can you think of a better way to celebrate our nation’s birthday?
Scott Thompson will kick things off with an acoustic set of all those songs you know and love.
The GLOW Band will get you off your feet and dancing the night away. This seven-piece band will have the dance floor packed with exceptional vocals and a “blow-your-socks-off rhythm section.” The GLOW Band will entertain you with the hottest pop songs, R&B, disco and all your classic favorites.
